  In addition to using the 60/30/10 mix for outside container growing, can this also be used for larger areas, such as a 4' X 3' raised bed?

Toward the end of this video is where my raised bed/hoop house will be for my peppers.   What type of landscaping would you do around the raised bed?  Landscape rocks with a week barrier?   What would you do to the area below the raised bed?  Leave it dirt with a weed barrier?  Put rocks there...

  These are indeed 2x6s (1.5" actual) and I agree, a middle joist would certainly add to the strength.

As a beginner at pepper growing, I thought I'd try the raised bed route first.  I'm seeking advice from pepper growers that use this method.  I'm looking for 2 or 3 main bullet points that you feel is a must do and 2 or 3 main bullet points to NOT do or avoid.   I'm just trying to keep it simple...
