Thanks man, season seems to be shaping up nicely. As far as the douglah...I am anxious to see what the others on my plant do. I swear there's another one right next to the one I posted a picture of that's going straight to brown. I'll post some more updates as these things start ripening. Really...
So right after I posted I went outside and what do you know, a douglah has started to ripen. Looks to me like they have an orange phase before brown...or at least this one does.
Thanks, it''s been good so far, hoping it keeps up.
Mostly just some runts I'll probably toss. These were basically all the first pods on my plants. Close to the ground and very small. Would not be suprised if some were all black and nasty inside when I cut them open. One thing I like about the bhut jolokias I grow is that even the runts I want...
Funny you should ask, here's what I posted in my grow thread earlier today:
"Speaking of the brain strain last night my neighbor and I sampled the 7 Pod Jonah, T Scorp Morouga and the 7 Pod Brain Strain. The Jonah was mine and the T scorp and Brain Strain were from his gardens. His plants...
Is that the Pepper Joe Giant Jolokia? If so then it's a little on the small side, you may get some bigger ones depending on how the rest of your season goes. I just picked a micro harvest of my early season runty peppers and it included a few bhuts, one of which is about 3 1/2 inches. The bhuts...
My first ripening brain strain of the season:
Speaking of the brain strain last night my neighbor and I sampled the 7 Pod Jonah, T Scorp Morouga and the 7 Pod Brain Strain. The Jonah was mine and the T scorp and Brain Strain were from his gardens. His plants are are from the original...
So a little more on the Jonah....
The ones here look kind of bumpy: http://www.thehotpepper.com/topic/18952-tonlys-2011-grow-log/page__view__findpost__p__473455. My neighbor is growing some Jonah's and they look like this one too.The one Neil samples in this video...
I've seen Jonahs (pictures at least) that are a lot more bumpy. I meant to ask Tony (BigT) about it but keeps slipping my mind. Are Jonahs supposed to be bumpy? The pods this year look just like the ones BigT sent me last year only they are about 2X - 3X the size. All he had was end of season...
I have a plant this year that's putting off pods like that. It's from my own bhut jolokia seeds and the other 5 plants I have going don't look like it at all. I assumed it crossed with a Caribbean Red last season and I have a cross :?:
