My first ripening giants of the year. These were the first pods to set on any of my jolokias. They survived all sorts of things...extreme heat, cold, hail, drought, being on the bottom of the plant in complete shade, etc. Just decided to pull them this morning so the plant can focus on some real...

Red bhuts don't turn yellow during the ripening process... Will be interesting to see what that turns out to be. :?:

I'm starting to see the same with my 2nd round giants. Round 1 size is "ok" but overall not up to par with last season. The new pods that have been forming look like they will break that trend. Hopefully the weather stays above 70 and below 100 :) Your pods and plants are looking good, another...

Just picked my first ripe Jonah of the year. Not even close to the biggest pod on the plant but still respectable. This is gonna hurt :eek:

I'm going to be doing the same, I have a ton of chocolate bhuts getting ready to ripen. My douglahs are starting to pick up too so should not be long. Where did you get your douglah seed from? I'm in the rockford area. Your garden looks awesome.

My douglah is really starting to set some pods now. The pimenta de nayda is getting a few small pods. Brain strains...hopefully starting to ripen any day now These two chocolates just look gnarly. :cheers:

What's the difference between this and the "normal" bhut? Just a thinner skin?

+1 I have ones fall like that all season, especially mid summer. Nothing to worry about.
