    Spicegeist 2016 (͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

This year I grew out two plants grown with seed from two different ripe Thai Hot peppers I bought at the supermarket.  One turned out to be a cross and it is really delicious!  Judging from the looks of it, I'm guessing it's Thai x Serrano.  I'll probably grow out some F2 plants in 2017:    ...

Thanks Paul.  Brown reverting to Red sounds like a good one.  I'd love to share seed of my red bhuts... I've just been so busy with my other "real" life things I haven't been able to get my seed sharing routine very organized.  I need to get a better system down for doing that...

Wow, that's great.  Thanks for sharing Datil!  I did send that cross over to Australia a few years ago... it could be a descendant of one of mine, but I think there were also others playing around with similar crosses.  Either way, very cool to see such a fun cross a few generations later...

Thanks Gary!  You should try this one sometime... different from a bhut, I bet it'd be very productive in your climate.

I just picked a bunch of Impact Bhuts, opened them up, and put them in the dehydrator.  These are one of my top 3 bhuts this year.  Of course as I was taking the seeds out I thought to myself "maybe I'll only grow Impact Bhuts next year..."

Here are my dried CGN 17020 pods.  These are great for wintertime, when eating chicken noodle soup, take a couple and crumble them up, mix in with a bowl:

That's true, there is the heat level.  I just love that unique bhut tangy flavor...       Yep, looks like that's what it is.  I believe that I originally received CGN 17020 from PepperLover.  My original Dorset Naga seed was from cmpman1974, and I do recall him saying he also got his from the...

Hey Rick, you know, they are, but I've moved them off to the side, so they're somewhat neglected.  I just didn't think they lived up to the hype.  I don't think anything really compares to bhut flakes and powder.   Speaking of Bhut and Naga types...   Here are some true Dorset Nagas:   I'll...

Thanks Devv.  A plant I've been growing as a houseplant actually set fruit: http://thehotpepper.com/topic/58077-spicegeist-2016-ia-ioee-ia/?p=1311391   I grew this out.       Thanks!  Not quite the tops, as my phone is a good few years old now, but it still gets the job done.  The weather here...

I bought a few Thai peppers from a local supermarket and grew out two plants, each grown with seed from a different pepper. One seems to have grown true: And the other is a cross, but I’m liking the way it’s looking.  Will probably be good for making hot flakes: And this little critter...

Joyner's 2016 Pepper Party - Starting Late or maybe Right on Time!

I grew two Red Thai plants this year with seed from supermarket peppers.  One grew true, the other is actually an interesting looking cross.  I'll probably use it for flakes.
