That's annoying.  I remember reading about some Australian growers having trouble with crows picking the pods right off the plants.

Earwigs might be responsible for those holes in your peppers, I've had that happen a few times in the past...

            Should be interesting.  The plants are all looking very similar, which is a bit surprising.  As to the "mother," it was the Chiltepin, so the cross was Chiltepin x Seven Pod Barrackpore.  Here's a pic of what I sent to Gary back then...
