drying Making ground pepper - problem.

Well I was grinding up 7 pot jonah's, the dust/oil stays on my hands no matter what I tried to wash it off with. And yes I have absolutely no experience with peppers. I only ate foods with hot sauce like once a month so I don't know anything about it. As a child my mom would always make me spicy...

drying Making ground pepper - problem.

There really should be a How to guide on peppers that breaks EVERYTHING down before you even start. So far this week I have burned my privates, eyes, hands, fingers, under my nails, face, and now my whole body.. I hit the cap on the grinder a little when it was still running, dust came flying...

drying Making ground pepper - problem.

So I got some peppers a couple days ago, dehydrated them, and ground them in a coffee grinder in my kitchen. There must be some thing from the peppers in the air because if I come into the kitchen I start coughing non-stop. Does anyone have a way to get this out of my air? (3 of the peppers are...

Are there any fascinating color varieties?

Exactly what I was looking for thanks! Are there any other pepper plants that have a weird color to them?

Are there any fascinating color varieties?

What I meant was the actual plant like the stems and leaves. I've heard there are black pepper plants but I can't find any.

Are there any fascinating color varieties?

I want to have some color in my garden. Are there any varieties of pepper plants that are not just plain green but other colors? If so, which varieties are there and what colors are they?

breeding How do people cross peppers?

Ooo grafting is something I will look up. Thanks for the break down of info. Wouldn't it be better to go further than F8 just so that you can get rid of that 2% that can revert back to one of the parents?

breeding How do people cross peppers?

Will do, but that will probably be next year. I only have one Jalapeno plant in my garden, nothing else. I haven't really been into growing peppers... That was until my Jalapeno's grew and I wanted more heat in my kitchen. I'm currently germinating some peppers, I'll have a bunch of plants...

breeding How do people cross peppers?

Thanks for all the info. I'll go and read more on this. I'm actually more interested in this. It would be great to breed the worlds hottest pepper and get into the Guinness World Records, which will never happen to me, but I gotta try! Haha.

breeding How do people cross peppers?

Yeah that makes more sense. So if I want a pepper that tastes like a scotch bonnet but looks like a reaper I would have to pull the one that looks like a reaper off the plant and plant the seeds? Will the next plant in the line give peppers that look like both a reaper and a scotch bonnet or...

breeding How do people cross peppers?

rying it. I read up a little more on other forums about it and I actually kind of want to do it. Too bad I have to wait until my seedlings grow. If I do cross some peppers and then plant the seeds will all the peppers look the same or will the peppers all look different? It would be neat to grow...

breeding How do people cross peppers?

Woah that looks pretty easy to do, I thought there would be more. Thanks man! I'll try it next year.   EDIT: If I wanted a true cross would I need to pick the pod, plant the seeds, and cross it again? Could I pick the pod, plant the seeds, then cross with another plant?

breeding How do people cross peppers?

What I mean by that is how do you make a whole new variety? That's pretty much all I want to know. If you got some info please share with a noob like me! Thanks.

seeds When can I start germinating?

I got some peppers from a member on this forum and I took the seeds out and want to plant them. I'm going out of town next week, and I wanted to start germinating right away but I don't know if I can.. Do I have to wait for the seeds to dry? How long should I wait? Is there anything bad that can...

What do you guys/gals do to get rid of your extra plants?

I went ahead and plucked out all the weak sprouts. I only left 6 hot wax and 8 jalapeno. I also got rid of the germinating seeds. It was so sad.. I raised these little guys only to kill them :( at least I got some experience with them. Next time i will only germinate the amount I need not the...

What do you guys/gals do to get rid of your extra plants?

I'm thinking ahead here, I need some ideas on what to do with the extra plants I will have.. Couple weeks back I decided to start germinating 300, yes 300, hungarian hot wax pepper seeds and 67 jalapeno seeds. I thought I would have awful germination rates since I bought the hot wax seeds off...

How do I wash away pepper juice?

Thanks for the tips, the heat is already going down. I can still feel it but it isn't as bad as it was.   What I don't understand is how people are able to eat these things whole.. I would probably die.

How do I wash away pepper juice?

   Gasoline? LOL How did that work out?   Don't have yogurt  :tear:   Haha, don't have that either.       The bigger problem here is that I have a hole on my finger nail, the juice went in that whole now everything hurts and nothing helps. Guess I could just go to sleep and hope for the best.
