video Drip irrigation, a quick video of my new setup

Thanks guys, the drips are still holding strong too - sitting back and watching technology work feels much better than a sore back!

Crazy dogs or Do hot pepper plants also have capsaicin?

Only the interior of the peppers themselves have the capsaicin... You may very well still have crazy dogs though :D My pup is rather gentle with the plants (thankfully), in fact - she's just rather timid altogether (border collie mix)

    Doritos Dinamita Fiery Habanero

Everyone at work (myself included) has been hooked on Taki's... Haven't tried the Dorito version yet. (None of the mass produced store brand things ever seem to have real punch to the though - although, mighty tasty :) )

video Drip irrigation, a quick video of my new setup

It's the Mister Landscaper version with an added Orbit timer. Ordered all the pieces from the Mister Landscaper site (timer from Amazon). This is already set to save me HOURS a week, as these damn plants needed watering daily at their size/in combination with the FL heat! It was actually a...

JutsFL pepper glog - 2014 (first from seed grow)

Finally added a drip irrigation system! Supper stoked on finally making it happen, watering everyday with the damn peppers was becoming quite the handful. This should make life much easier now :) Here's the video link if y'all wanna see - http://youtu.be/_yW0OJRRnRg

JutsFL pepper glog - 2014 (first from seed grow)

It took 3 full months for it to crack the seed! I used the toothpick method, and I think it's around 7 or 8 months old now (including the germination time)

JutsFL pepper glog - 2014 (first from seed grow)

Indeed I did Rune, and thank you. The avocado proved to be a quite the hard germination. It actually got two separate stalks growing out of the seed now as well. I kept cutting the smaller one down in the beginning - but it wouldn't give up. So I decided to leave 'em be .

Help, problems with stem base on Carolina Reapers

They can be saved, as stated above. I had the same issue with one or two of my chinense varieties as well bc of the wide leaf growth ( it covered the solo cups and blocks all air flow ). Firstly, I cut some slits in the cups to allow air in. Secondly, I put them in wider brimmed containers -...

    ulcers vs extreme hot peppers

Most stomach ulcers are not caused by what we ingest, but rather by an infection of helicobacter pylori (then just aggravated after the fact).

Hot food lover new to this site

Welcome my man! And as from your other post, hit up a Reaper and see now the tables may turn! I share the passion, as we all do here... You'll find the one that bites ya eventually!

JutsFL pepper glog - 2014 (first from seed grow)

Another update... Firstly - 1/4 of the reaper pod kicked my arse! Wasn't prepped enough for that one, Wowzers!! (I'll be ready for his siblings though ;) ) So here's a few angles of the plot as of this afternoon: The growth is still progressing quite well, but losing some of the lower/older...

chinense Eatting hot peppers Ghost chili and higher

No worries of 'actual' death.... Maybe just wishing its occurrence in the process though ;) I'm in line to try my TM scorpions, and savina's next... Then work my way back to the reaper - it was an altering experience to say the least, and I'm going to have to prep for the next encounter!

More Fruits per plant for Super Hots?

It is quite the variable for you though, it's only the super hots which don't produce as much (with the others being in the same conditions)? ...and how much less of a production have you had?

container Dealing with excessive rain for container plants

Agreed. If there are enough drainage holes - in combination with a well draining soil then the rains will never be a problem. The problem will lie in the fact that the ground floods, thus forcing the pots to sit in water (I have this problem from time to time myself). Other than that (as...

chinense Eatting hot peppers Ghost chili and higher

...I just ate 1/4 of a pod from my reaper plant the other day. I could literally feel every inch of my stomach and intestines pulsating with the molten magma they contained! Wasn't ready for that experience either. Conversely though - that reaper lit my face up like a hot branding iron as well...

More Fruits per plant for Super Hots?

Well, I'm not too sure of the correct answer - but I can tell you that mine see about 6 1/2 hrs of full sun per day, the rest is all shade. They have all put out more pods than I'll be able to handle. I suppose though it's quite the mix of growing aspects that turns into production, and would be...

    Habaneros...what to do?

If that's truly 4 plants, then their at the size that I wouldn't mess with them. Personally, I would just put them in a very large container and let 'em go. It may be possible the separate plants of that size - but you'd be pulling off some Kreskin mind tricks to make it happen!
