water Add Cal-mag to water with MG?

If I want to make up for the lack of Calcium in the Miracle-Gro I have left, can I just add Cal-Mag to the mix (water and MG)? I assume maybe I'd want to use less of one or both to not overdo the Nitrogen (the Cal-Mag is 2-0-0), but besides that, is there anything keeping me from adding both for...

    vendor Baker Creek

Glad to know I'm not going crazy. haha   On a happier note, the 1 Thai plant I have that actually made it is thriving. It's flowering like crazy while still in a 4" pot under lights inside. It's even throwing out nodes that are trying to flower all up and down the plant. Assuming nothing goes...

raised-bed Weed barrier under or over dirt in raised beds?

Pretty much just the question in the title. I want to keep weeds under control, but I also don't want to mess up the potential for root development. The weed barrier I'm looking at is supposed it be good for drainage, so that's not a concern. The beds are 1 foot deep. Here's the link:  ...

    Pinch off flowers?

Thanks. What size pot would I need? They're going in raised beds in a couple weeks.

    Pinch off flowers?

Thanks. Pinching one plant and leaving the other would be informative for next year.

    Pinch off flowers?

All of that aside, it seems like the advice is to leave the flowers be and let the plants do what they want to do.   I'll do that. Thanks again.

    Pinch off flowers?

I've got a lot of different kinds of hot peppers - off the top of my head, 2 kinds of Jalapenos, Poblano, lemon drop, tabasco, thai, hab, red hab, JPGS, Scorpion, and even a different kind of Cayenne (Joe's Long Cayenne).   They're all in Miracle Gro Potting Mix, under T5s, and getting CNS17...

    Pinch off flowers?

Thanks for the quick reply.   They're in 4 inch pots. They're probably 10 inches tall or so. Not sure what made them go crazy like this. Nothing else is close to as tall or flowering nearly as much, and they're all in the same pots with the same growing media/lights/nutes etc.

    Pinch off flowers?

I've got a couple Cayenne plants that each have a half dozen or so flowers already, and based on the buds that haven't flowered yet, it seems like I'll probably have no less than 24 on each plant by the time I plant out into raised beds in 2 or 3 weeks. Should I start pinching off the flowers...

    How long to harden off?

Thanks for the info!   I've seen some places saying "at least a week to 10 days" or even "2 or more weeks". My question came about because I started thinking about a conversation I had with a guy at the local garden store last year where he mentioned that they started opening up the greenhouse...

    How long to harden off?

They're 6 hours south. They're zone 6, I'm zone 5. The weather is typically about 5-10 degrees warmer there on average, but they live in the same general high-humidity area that I do.

    How long to harden off?

I started some extra seeds so I could give some plants to my parents, who have a pretty big garden. I'm going down this weekend, and am planning on bringing the plants with me (their plant out date is right around the corner/maybe already here). I started hardening off the plants yesterday (it...

soil Thoughts on this Garden Soil?

A local place has garden soil (mix of their compost, potting mix, and sand) available by the cubic yard, and I'm looking at getting some to put in my 3 8'x4' 1 foot deep raised beds. They have the following lab results of what's in it.  ...

    Nutrient Deficiency?

Thanks, that's good to know.   I'll wait and see on the leaf curl issue. The plants really do seem quite healthy aside from that, but that may just be because I don't know what to look for to determine that they're unhealthy.

    Nutrient Deficiency?

Thanks. Last question, I promise:   Will this be a good mix for my tomatoes too?

    Nutrient Deficiency?

Thanks!   How often should I add it to the watering? Every other time or so, I'd assume?
