F2 from Scarlett's Chili x Poblano will have some variegated babies. Some purple flowered, some purple flowered with white edges, etc.  I'm excited to have these seeds back from you and even more excited to know that you will have some wildly flavorful and beautiful f2. The poblano is one of my...

Yes indeed my friend, I tried the 'other jar' you sent and let me say your jam is also to die for. You my friend have a gift when it comes to growing peppers, but an even bigger gift when it comes to preparing them into gourmet items. I took a spoonful out of that jam and ate it plain to get its...

I just wanted to take some time to publicly thank SkullBiker for sending me back more fruit than I needed and for the gifts as well. That Cowboy Candy is off the chain good. I took that to work and half the jar was gone the first day! I have already collected seed from the fruit and tasted them...

    hybrid Tabasco Fish cross

If your interest is getting variegated genes into your Greenleaf... there are variegated interspecific Capsicum chinense dominant hybrids out there as well as a few variegated Capsicum chinense to work with.    If your desire is to get a specific variegated gene from an annuum introduced into...

    hybrid Tabasco Fish cross

If you are talking about a greenleaf Tabasco... it is actually a complex interspecific hybrid with frutescens and chinense genes both... Keep at it.

Take your time my friend, that Capsicum annuum 'Scarlett's Chili' x C. annuum 'Poblano' has some stellar genetics already showing in the f1 from what I can see. The f2 will bring variegation back, but the work is far from over.

Fruit is great, as it allows me to judge taste, size, color, etc. But if seed is easier go with what works best for you. I will have to grow out several to get a good idea of what each cross has to offer regardless. More backcrosses may still be workable as well to get this just right for my taste.

    vendor Drax Peppers

If we say that a pepper is true breeding... then yes, if they are pollinated by another true breeding pepper of the same variety they should remain true breeding regardless of how the cross pollination or self pollination occurred as the peppers were both true breeding and of the same variety.  ...

Many thanks, I can tell you this much. I understand the genetics enough to promise you that your f2 will prove even more beautiful should you choose to grow some out as well. The downside, some of those crosses have some very complex polygenetic traits so you will want to grow out several or do...

Dying to get my hands on seed from your 3 and 5 my friend. You did such a great job, I'd like to offer you the chance to grow out a few from this one as well. The number 2 is a purple flowered Capsicum baccatum. Thought you might like to try some crosses with it, love the taste of that pepper.

annuum Capsicum annuum 'Fish Pepper' x C. annuum 'Tennessee Cheese

you are dealing with a lot of polygenic traits to get what you desire which is considerably harder than just trying to get a mendelian trait to manifest. It sounds like you have done fairly well though in a short period of time.

Mathematically, you have a 25% will be variegated via a punnett square... reality does not always work that way.   It is not a matter of how many would have to be grown, but more of an understanding that the more plants one produces the more one can make meaningful selections.   Do you want the...

annuum Capsicum annuum 'Fish Pepper' x C. annuum 'Tennessee Cheese

numex Jalmundo is a cross originating from Keystone Resistant Giant Bell Pepper which is not reportedly well suited for the deep south. The other parent was Early Jalapeno to which it was later backcrossed to Early Jalapeno again.   I see you have your cross listed as Capsicum annuum 'numex...

    Variegated JPGS??

If you have a variegated gene here, it needs to be brought out more. Grow a handful of seed up from this plant and if a variegated gene is hidden, you should see it turn homozygous in at least a few of the progeny which would give you a clearly variegated phenotype to enjoy.
