wow thats too slow if you sowed them in january, i dont know if its just my season but i planted about 100 seeds 2 weeks ago and about 80 of them already poped.

jiffy pellets always give me 90% minimum germination on all varieties of peppers! no heat mats or so.. i did some experiment before on paper towel put it on top of my cable box and did not germinate at all, maybe its too hot!

If you dont use heat mat the moisture will stay inside the enclosure and should be moisted enough for 3 weeks or until the sprout. i dont use a heat mat, i just use a aluminum tray with covers from the dollarstore and peat pellets. i just water the pellets a little hot maybe 50c, and wait 10...

i am using peat pellets too! 95% germination they pop up in 7 days, sometimes less or up to 10 days!
