I had to look up 5c...LOL   The 40's shouldn't hurt, if you feel it's going to frost run the sprinkler on them. I've done this and it works; saved 95 out of 96 plants when the temps went down to about 27°, was maybe lower.

You hit it right on the head about adding plain old dirt to the compost. It has all the goodies to get things going.   That, and use what you choose as a grow medium. There are so many options.   Have a great season and enjoy it ;)

Those plants look great Andy!   This year I had mine under the LED, and it's really bright. That and it was cloudy. I stuck them outside and they never complained.   The tomatoes were under T5 and T8 lights. They silvered up some.
