This year im growing 3 non hot varieties
Aji Dulce / Dulce Chili
Nu Mex Heritage 6-4 ( new mexico chili)
Suave Habanero Red and Orange ( I consider these 2 the same just color difference)
I have to say. This classifies as super hot.
This one brought yellow flames to my taste buds.
decent smokey flavor, than came the searing heat!
But I handled this one quite well.
But it did get my stomach gurgling
couple hiccups.
Got that endorphin rush, I have been missing for a while.
use fresh peppers. The dried stuff if better for making spices, unless you want to throw some pepper powder into the liqour to enhance the flavor. My brother has several martini's like this. Some are quite good.
been a recent grow, more for curiosity. I threw a hand full out of a store bought jalapeno.
Now I got 3 plants growing nicely.
to the guy above
im buying me 2 more 12 packs.
This is some good stuff.
After trying Thier OCtoberfest.
I had to try out winter lager.
After reading the jalapeno topic, I decided to try one of my vine riped reds. I am shocked to say. This little sucker
lit my mouth up. Had to go grab me a Sam adams winter lager out the freezer.
Hmmmmm The store bought green stuff, just is like a bell pepper compared to these...
first thing I will say, cut all the leaves off your plants. Starve them out.
Avoid using a pesticide. This killed all of my plants last year................
if you see any ant mounds around your home, take a cup and introduce some ants to your plants.
2 months ago I noticed aphids laying eggs...
have any of you had this winter weather effecting the flavor of your late bloomer pods?
I noticed quite a few of my pods from many of my plants, the flavor isnt what it was during spring and summer.
I would rather try some of the
more interesting varieties being grown by members of this board. Im sure some of them
would Ignite my mouth like
C4 in a gas tank.
This could possibly be the case, but I have had a few other pepper varieties, that I had been growing since spring, that since the weather got cold, the flavors have been off...... Not to mention my Jolokia pods that have sprouted post october have the same issue........
