chinense EATING BROWN MOROGUA SCORPION ON LIVE STREAM

I'm sitting in my bathtub with some wine waiting for your live stream!  Where are you????   Oh and it's going to burn baby, burn for hours.... I am just joking around, but I can only eat 1/8 of a super-hot before I'm dying!  If you do it, you are awesome, but I can't eat a whole one...

    Paprika varitiy recomendations

I grew 2 R-Naky plants from seeds from the Chile Pepper institute and they did well.  These are medium/large New Mexico style peppers that are mild.    I got a lot of pods and they are good early as green, or let them ripen to red and dry out.  They have a deep red color and are mild but tasty...

nutrients What nutrients should I use?

It's my first year.  I had a similar problem and they looked sickly!  I got a test kit from the gardening store and found out I was low on Nitrogen and Phosphorus, but high in Potassium.   So, I used miracle grow because I had it and it worked very well.  They grew like weeds!  After that, I...

chinense DNA tests that proved reaper= primo?

I think your right ajdrew, that cool looking mild peppers would do great at the farmers market.  The trinidad perfume is a great example of a yummy yellow spaceship people can add to salads etc.

2016 garden will you have more or less peppers ?

I am increasing slightly from 24 plants to maybe 32 plants.  I had 12 varieties this year, but I am cutting the variety to 8 types.  I will have half chocolate type super-hots, and the other half will be milds like Aji Rainforest (if I can find seeds) and New Mexico chiles.

chinense DNA tests that proved reaper= primo?

It's up to the person, grower, or company who sends us the sample to decide how many are in the test group and the type of sample sent.  For small growers like myself, I may dry and grind up about a dozen pods.  For an actual farm who wants to test fresh pods, they should randomly grab pods...

chinense DNA tests that proved reaper= primo?

Sorry, MPicante, I didn't mean it to sound like you were wrong either because like you said you're just reporting what was said.  No problem.  The results are legit.   I did the HPLC testing, so I thought it was odd that someone not directly involved in testing or growing (Mr. Taylor) would use...

chinense DNA tests that proved reaper= primo?

Where was this posted?  It's only proof they are similar in heat.   Yes, only SHU, nothing more.     Butch Taylor did not pay for or have anything to do with the testing.  These peppers were grown on a farm in PA and were tested just to compare the 2 since they were from the same grower.  One...

    6 pepper SHU's results

Mark, I don't remember if we have tested choc. Bhuts or not.  I'll look and see if I can find any results.  There's so many peppers and so little time!   I agree, but I haven't grown them to see all the types of pods.  The ones I've seen are more habanero or something similar to me.

    6 pepper SHU's results

I tested a couple more types for SHU recently:   White Ghost (PeppersByMail):  135,300 SHU   Chocolate Bhutlah (PeppersByMail):  867,300 SHU   I am suprised the Choc Bhutlah was not hotter!  It just goes to show that everthing veries a lot.  I know PeppersByMail grows some very hot ones, as seen...

    Hello From NorCal.

Welcome From New Mexico....but I'm born and raised in NorCal.... Auburn, CA.  My wife makes me process and cook peppers outside, which is a good idea since sometimes I cry, sneeze, and cough like I'm dying when I do stuff inside.  Have fun!

Chile Pepper Institute, Field Picture Tour

I don't work there, but I live in Las Cruces, NM, where it is.  It is open M-F to the public.  I would say that you can get away with "grabbing a pod" but they sell seeds to lots of them at the store they have on the NMSU campus or the CPI website.   I don't know, but if you email them...
