Dulac,
Thanks. Not sure is Bih Jolokias are any different from Bhut Jolokias? I'm waiting for one to ripen. I'm sure from the looks of it that it is a scorcher!

This plant is unidentified. Could it be a Bhut Jolokia? A Bhut Hybrid? (It was supposed to be a Butch T but obviously isn't).
Here is a closer view of its pods. Similar to actual Bhut Jolokia pods shown in a picture further down.
This one is an actual Bhut Jolokia pod.

It was from seed. I'm reluctant to say from where since it can happen to any vendor I suppose. I'm going to try some more of their seed that I already have. If this continues, I'll have no problem posting it. It is a well known vendor though. Not one of my alcohol enthuiast buddies down the...
Exactly. 5 Gallon Homer containers for me. I drill six or seven 11/16 inch holes in the bottom for drainage and cut the handles off. Cheap, good size and available.

elcap1999 makes a good point above. How much fertilizer is good and how much is too little or too much will depend on a lot of variables but your plant will let you know. Periodic, low to moderate applications of fertilizer are much better than less frequent applications that might shock the...
Looks good. Staking not a bad idea. We keep a fan on our seedlings 24-7 from germination to hardening. Strengthens stem and reduces fungus and other nasties. By the way, how long did it take for the Morugas to germinate and by what method?
Best,

One lesson I learned the hard way though is not to mulch with those big chunks of tree bark. When I did that I created a vast hotel resort for slugs. They rested under that bark all day picking their teeth then came out at night to work my plants over. I'm not sure what the best mulch is but...
I can tell you I've already done it successfully this season. Here is my 10 step process:
1. Pinch (not snip) off a fresh cutting (hopefully 5-7 inches long). It seems that cuttings bluntly pinched off and not so sharply cut or snipped off will root better. 2. Without delay, take off any bottom...
In the Atlanta area, we have had about ten days of temperatures around or over 100 degrees F. This past Saturday, it was 106 (and I was sitting in the bleachers at a Braves game).
Most of us will recommend that chiles (particularly the superhot varieties) do not like wet feet from...
