    Incoming summer polar vortex!!!!

Flowers wouldn't drop at those temps... Late spring/ early summer, also late summer/ early autumn those night temperatures are not uncommon over here in the UK. The plants don't suffer.

Atropa belladonna and other wild Nightshades

Plant the henbane this year... If you get the seed within the next 3/4 weeks then plant. Henbane typically grows over a 2 year period, a rosette of very large sticky leaves in the first year, and in it's second year it will flower with the snaking stems. Henbane doesn't like water logged soils...

Concerning sudden leaf problems.. suspect over fert

I don't make my own compost, over here there are plenty of shops you can pick up from, and its relatively cheap if your using it on a small scale like myself. The compost I use is a mixture of peat and organic material (whatever that might be), with some added grit. No chicken manure as far as...

Atropa belladonna and other wild Nightshades

Datura & brugmansia are grown as garden plants over here, however datura occasionally pops up as an escaped weed on disturbed ground. It's quite weird seeing a picture of wild datura growing. A slightly more common nightshade weed are the Physalis species. :-)

Concerning sudden leaf problems.. suspect over fert

Sorry, miss understanding :-) I used the term "soil" in a rather generic term for compost. You confused me by saying "soil less" and linking a page about hydroponics. (From memory)... My 'soil' is around 40% peat with compost and stuff to make it more loamy.. Grit/ sand I think. I would need...

Concerning sudden leaf problems.. suspect over fert

Thanks those figures :-) Is that quite a high amount of nitrogen? I'm just used to seeing the percentage of a mix, rather then what is a available.

Concerning sudden leaf problems.. suspect over fert

It's primarily for the yellow 7. This plant had issues before the suspected fert overdose. The leaves/ upper stems on new growth are continuesly wilted, there has been very little growth from this plant recently and some of the wilted stuff has died off. This plant also happens to be in a pot...

    Strange leaves, please help

The leaves look shiny. Have you sprayed them pesticides recently? or do they feel sticky to touch?

    Strange leaves, please help

Not sure :) My plants went like that recently too, and I have very hard water where I live. It started happening within 24 hours of fertilising my plants.

Atropa belladonna and other wild Nightshades

Of course it's wild lol, so to is the plant I posted earlier with the henbane :D It loves the chalky hills of Southern England - and the birds love the berries.

    sphagnum moss question.

I've not seen available as a soil mix over here in the UK, it might be available in more specialist garden shops though. However... I was reading that apparently peat is sphagnum moss. The only difference between what is in my compost, and what I've just put on the top, is one is dead the...
