My lacewing larvaes did the trick, good thing about them compared to ladybugs is that they can't fly away:) They seem to be really effcient hunters as well. Awsome looking at them while they crawl around and search for aphids to suck dry!
Good to hear that you prune like that as well, since your plants look great :) I've used cheap http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Space_blanketas reflectors. I were going to try foil but I got the tip to use emergency blanket from dave2000 (another user at thp)
Update 3: seven days since the release.
Most of the lacewings are around 10mm long, takes them about 3 min to eat a full grown aphid. I can see a significant decrease of the aphids population. Its even hard to find aphids now. I can see lots of eaten aphids.
