http://www.thehippyseedcompany.com/ is always good. I have gotten good germination rates off them

Mezo`s "super hots" Glog including the 'big' solar dehydrator.

Back home we only get brown snakes and tiger snakes and there is not a stick big enough for me to do that. Although I did accidently run over a carpet snake the other day but he still looked alive and kicking when i drove back the other way. I did not know this....I can't think of any people...

    Another pinching question...sorry

Thanks for the info, should be a good little experiment anyway just to see if I can steadily grow. So i shouldn't have any issues with pods ripening? Do earthboxes keep warmer or something? I've never used them before. Haha maybe we should have a race, first pods post August? :D

Your Goanna's aren't doing their job if the snakes are around. I always found it comforting seeing a Goanna around when walking through long grass, maybe my faith was misplaced :scared: .

When the foliage becomes soggy over night what is happening to the plant?

I noticed this as well with mine more of late(could be my imagination)..could be to do with overnight temperatures cooling down?

    seeds Stringy seedings

Popular term on the forum is leggy. Are you growing indoors or outdoors? If you're indoors your light source could be too far away and should be moved closer/may need more lights. Mine were leggy when they came up, if you are transferring them to a pot any time soon you can bury the stem up to...

    Another pinching question...sorry

Sooo I know if I remove these early buds my plant will grow bigger, however it's coming on winter here in Australia where I won't produce any pod's (at a guess, new to living in Brisbane and growing chilli's). So my question is if I let these go to flower and produce pods, then blast with...

sun Full sun or partial sun?

Thanks for the info AJ I was wondering how my plants were going to go as I'm currently chasing sun in what seems a ridiculously shaded yard (no matter where I go I get 6 hours tops).

Persistence and success story! [ plus some help needed :) ]

Good work man especially by the looks of it not much space to work with. And good to see the persistence and patience (I think I'm going to need a bit of that come winter :P).

    Kale Question

Cheers for the responses must be a North American thing because she is Canadian, and I've never known someone to eat it. At the moment I'll grow this plant out for a taste test (and my veggie patch has started to get shaded in areas so space is an issue), then maybe come September the shade...

    Kale Question

Hey everyone, so my new roommate just handed me a pot with Kale in it and said grow me this so away I go. My question is would this be just one plant or a heap of separate seedlings that need separating or will they be ok to put into the garden as is? I've never even seen the stuff let alone...

Mezo`s "super hots" Glog including the 'big' solar dehydrator.

I guess it depends on the area as to the popularity of them but I'd say it would be hard to have a constant demand for them as most people would get them for a novelty or just to try. But then again I've seen random communities rurally that have a largish oriental community that generally love...

Mezo`s "super hots" Glog including the 'big' solar dehydrator.

Everything is coming along nicely for you Mezo, just wondering is the reason you opted for pots so you can grow them in your marquee over winter? Or are you going to put some in the ground just that you have what looks like "boundless plains to plant" :D

    Pumpkin Not Fruiting Question

Ok well I actually didn't know the difference between the flowers (noobish I know) but from what i read the female has a bulb under the flower? If this is the case my plants are a complete sausage fest...all male. Would that be an environmental issue?

Growing through winter - Brisbane, Aus

However your neighbours won't be as close as mine to know :P but oh well. I think its also legal in Tasmania to kill them. I think it's mainly illegal because most people wouldn't really know what they're doing but pest controllers should be able to.

Growing through winter - Brisbane, Aus

Cheers Benzo, the picture quality will go down probably as I'll switch to my phone instead of camera as I ended it with the gf and it was her camera. In her angry post-break-up message had the nerve to attack the chilli plants, talk about burning bridges there :P :D. Growing things is boring...

Growing through winter - Brisbane, Aus

Haha sorry Mezo I meant for the plants :P. I really wished that this could happen, I'm from rural NSW/VIC and we've never had any pest problems bigger than a small rat suffice to say :D. Possums are protected, pretty ridiculous its a $5000 fine if you even relocate them more than 50m from your...

    Pumpkin Not Fruiting Question

Yeah but when I've been going to manually germinate the flowers were already at the stage of dying so may have been too late? I'll try and get ontop of it earlier, they were just something I chucked up the back of the yard as a trial run. Flowers seem to have such a short life-span (i think...

    vendor The Hippy Seed Company

So far I'm 12/12 for germination from THSC. After some shocking results from other vendors I don't think I'd go somewhere else personally.

    Pumpkin Not Fruiting Question

I Think the sunlight could be the main issue then as they probably on and off only get about 6-7 hours of full sun at max. The only thing they have been fed is some manure (chicken pellets) and maybe some seasol powerfeed at the start. The soil is fast draining and a bit clumped together I guess...
