I never pollinated any of my Rocotos. I started them in November so that I had large plants by Spring. They wont produce pods very well this time of year because it is too hot. They prefer a cooler climate as they are from the Andes Mtns in South America. Last year I tried to grow them and...
Last night I picked Rocotos
I am freezing them in bags instead of dehydrating. My wife makes a hot sauce from these for her chicken soups. All Peruvians use Rocotos in this way and I figure freezing would be the best way to save the pods
For what its worth, If I lived up where you do I would start my plants earlier. Even here in MO I started several of my plants in late November nwhich is a little extreme however even my rocotos are loaded with pods this year
They are more chocolate looking when not in my photo. The flash seems to give them a reddish look
Bhuts, Nagas, Fataliis etc. I'm making 1 batch that will have all my peppers in it.
I am working in the peppers now. I am dehydrating most of them so I can make some atomic powder. I'm also freezing several.
Brown Habanero
These are Congo Trinidad
I'll post more as I have time to pick them. I have alot more needing to be picked
Yeah the HPL plants have always looked like that for some reason. I'm growing them the same way as my others though
Dont clean it up on my account.;) See you Friday. I'll call you in a day or 2 to get some directions
Patrick, I have 7 plants with lotsa pods on all of them.
BTW, Patrick, The Chocolate Habs I have growing look are still green but shaped like a Bhut or Naga. Did yours look like that? I am pretty sure I got the seed from you
