    Baker's Peppers 2012 GLOG

If I remember correctly, pine bark naturally raises the acidity in the soil and for plants such as tomato's, chili's, Japanese maples, etc., that's a good thing. Is that correct?

PJ's 2012 Glog with a Kaleidoscope of Colored Peppers

That's a pretty good price on the Pro-mix. The cheapest I have found it locally is $54 a bale. How many plants do you think you will have in 5 gallon containers once moved outside?

Are you going to grow all of your plants in the 5 gallon containers for the entire time of the grow season?

Mezo`s "super hots" Glog including the 'big' solar dehydrator.

Good luck on the seeds germination. I purchased all of my seeds from Pepperlover this year and had good germination rates. I will purchase from her many times in the future.

PJ's 2012 Glog with a Kaleidoscope of Colored Peppers

I am trying to understand. Did you say that the 4 bales of Pro-Mix is how much it will take for you pot up all of your plants for once they are outside? Will you keep all of your plants in containers? Did you get the Pro-Mix locally and how much did you pay for it where you are? One more...

    Dvdpfstr's Glog

I planted my first flat of seeds on 2/15/12 and I noticed today that I have a couple of Red Habanero's peeking their heads out. I hadn't anticipated having any sprouts this quick so I had to put a plan together as far as lighting. I had been looking around about what options there were...

    Dvdpfstr's Glog

Got an email from pepperlover.com today saying they were sorry for the mistake of leaving the Butch T Scorpions out of my order and they were sending them out today. Until they get here I went ahead and planted another tray of seedlings from the last order that were soaking in water/peroxide...

    Hydrofarm heat mat thermostat.

Thanks for the reply's. I have an infra-red thermometer gun that I have been measuring my soil temps with and on top of the soil they are averaging 75˚ to 80˚. On the very bottom of the seed tray they are between 95˚ to 100˚. If I measure directly in the middle of the seedling cell it averages...

    Hydrofarm heat mat thermostat.

Can someone who has one of these tell me where the sensor is located that reads the temperature? In the bottom of the seed tray, on top, where exactly does it take it's reading from?

seeds How many seeds per plant cell?

Just wandering what number of seeds the majority of you put in each cell when germinating. This is my first year growing super hots but in all my previous years of tomato, cayenne, habanero, and jalapeño growing I have almost always put 2 seeds in each cell, only to have to thin them out...

MGOLD86's GLOG, of sorts. NEW Billy Boy Douglah Review!

As far as thinning out the cells with multiple sprouts in them I can't help but ask the question, why not wait until they both have some decent growth on them and separate the two plants and replant them? Saving both plants. I have done this many times with tomato and pepper plants and have...

First order of super hots has been placed.

I've been researching where to order from and it seems Pepperlover is highly regarded. We'll soon see. I would like to get the seeds going by next weekend and considering they are located in the state below me I am hoping they get here quick.

    Hello from Kentucky!

Just joined the forums after deciding to put a revised emphasis in the garden this summer to more chili growing. Trying to decide the final list of what seeds I am going to order before placing orders by the end of the weekend. Glad to be a part of the community and already have enjoyed...
