But perhaps my most anticipated Variety is the SCCMBR (Solid Core Chocolate Moruga Brains Red). I got my genetics (Chocolate Moruga Brains Red) from fellow pepper grower Martin and they turned out to be the best full package Red of the Season. Great looking Moruga Shaped and completely...
My first Superhot was off a plant I grew in the backyard...I grew many types that year and honestly don't remember the exact strain but it was a nice red Trinidad style Pod. The plant only produced one pepper. I split it with my brother at dinner and could not believe that Peppers could be so...
Thank you for the good leads and info. The Ogger story was really cool thanks AJ Drew. I got multiple sources now and look forward to getting these going at the end of the year. Thanks Bhuter that is a source Im using for the first time buying these seeds.
Ok that's good to hear. Thank you AJ and Hogleg. And yes I do date myself with the TSMB term lol. I'll have to give Jim a call. I spoke with a local friend and pepper grower about the record breaking batch and he was under the impression that the genepool drifted a bit from the time it was...
Nice! I got a few of these from Whitehot Seeds. Very vigorous and viable. I was thinking they would be similar to a BTR as well. Very nice to hear that they stack up well comparatively
White-hot seeds is my personal favorite. But great seeds From Butch T. His CPR and CMB are both highly underrated. Thanks for the Primo link. Gonna have to start some primos. Too bad David Capiello doesn't have a page like Primo and Butch. Growing reapers as well this year...we'll see how...
You might have to just feel it out. Once they are big enough they handle hardening off better. Maybe even throw a little shade cloth over your greenhouse in the beginning to help them transition.
I started about 800 plants this year. All Superhots. I found heat mats critical but also found that using a temp controller with the heat pad is also critical. I use a Herpstat.
One of my favorites. Always very tasty and high heat that gets me in the zone. High quality genetics. Red or Chocolate are both amazing with a wide spectrum of flavor. Before growing these I was worried about them not being hot enough. They got some serious heat.
https://www.homedepot.com/p/Sharpie-Mean-Streak-Permanent-Marker-White-2003565/302243058 tried a ton of markers and crayons. This Mean streak was the best I've tried. Everything else faded or smelled toxic. I just mark the container and cross out the old name on it.
I didn't get much response so decided to do 4 trays of soil block seedlings vs 4 trays of soil cake method to find out for myself which method I like. Also I tried a European root trainer. All with heat mats controlled by a herpstat. All methods are germinating like crazy after I added the...
Nobody knows for sure but I believe that Trinidad created the original super hot and that Ghosts/Bhuts are definitely hybrids. You can almost see that they mixed in a Moruga type with a long pointy Indian Pepper at one point. I think the rounder brainstain style pods are closer to the original...
