Dear god that is a lot of powder. Be careful!
Love those pots. I switched to square nursery pots this year and have enjoyed them. Smart pots do dry out fast. Rick had some ceramic water nannies he has had luck with. Ever give them a shot? You plug a bottle into the top of them.
Thanks Chuck! Goats Weed is probably my favorite annuum for drying-Italian dishes. I go through a ton of it on pizza. Sadly my yields last year were smaller than I'd like because one of the plants didn't grow true. Don't think I'll have that problem this time around.
Giving the plants more...
Great points of comparison! In a pinch I may put the coco outside, but I think my summer temps run a bit hotter, though I could probably set it up so the pot itself was shaded.
Nice update. Sorry to see the bonnets aren't cooperating... Looks like they got chewed on?
The jerk marinade looks great. I've seen that ghost pepper curry down here too bud never tried it. May give it a whirl sometime.
Hi Neil! According to the general hydroponic starter kit the nutes undergo some changes with heating that make them harder for the plants to absorb. Heat in the system also speeds up chemical reactions and can contribute to ph swings and generally futzes with absorption. That said, hands on...
Plants look good. I am a big fan of the interlocking pots. May have to work on some oils myself this year. What kind of lights do you keep them under indoors?
The summer is coming. The plants are large, starting to form nice canopies, and pretty healthy for the most part. One baccatum is having some support issues. Its pods are weighing down its branches. And one of my reaper plants has some tiny brown flecks and yellow on its lower leaves. I am...
He Blister those numbers look good, and are very helpful. I haven't been posting enough but believe me I have been using your insights.
I am impressed with the grow rate on this jolokia... the material just breaths so well the plant is adding like a quarter inch each night. I've been running...
Beds look nice. Sorry to hear about the temperature troubles... growing up north comes with a heap of problems. I am going to try some late onions to fill in the gaps left by cilantro. Following some of your growing strategies even though the season is going to be pushing it (they will be...
Great looking plants! Interesting side note. I have been aggressively pruning and denuding one plant and let the other do what it wants. Right now the au naturale is almost as tall.
These companies just get too big and can't protect themselves.
The garden is looking great Rick. Glad to see you got some chinense buds forming. Summer is on its way...
Plants look great Rick. Sorry to hear about the Bahamian Goats... I am still living off frozen pods from last years harvest. Mellow for a chinense.
The soaker houses look great. When I get my own space I am going to set it up that way.
Thanks for the update!
