Uknow 2018 - The Heat is On!

Something is nibbling on my Chocolate BrainStrain and 2 other plants... Any ideas of what bugs to look/spray for?

The Purple Ripper! (Reaper crossed with suspected (99%sure) Fildaga Preto). Seeds came from an open pollinated Reaper pod last fall. JPGS from Genetikx, in a fabric pot... JPGS and JRGS from Jedisushi... Purple BTR cross, also suspected crossed with the...

Overwintered plants continued... This is the last one, my Purple Naga Viper... Not as big as the others, I almost lost it in January, but it's coming back now and very productive for it's size!

Big update, it's been a while. I'll have to make multiple posts. (About 200 pics) Mostly just pics, the plant label pic is first, followed by pics of that plant. We'll start with my 5 overwintered plants from last season... To be...

contest Growdown Throwdown 2018 Yellow Brain Strain!

Hey all, I'm still here and my chosen plant is putting out better pheno pods now, still have not harvested any yet. Plant still has that one early pod that is ripe on it. A couple pods have some soft/rotten spots on them though.

Thanks! I also made my own mix this time... 1 part each of MG potting mix, Sand and Perlite. So hopefully that works well, it's a pretty common custom mix recommended on most cacti sites.

Stopped at a Lowe's while out of town this weekend and rebuilt most of what I had in my collection before, and added some new ones too! I got all the fake flowers cut off with minimal damage and potted them into 4 inch clay pots. I also decided to downsize the pots of the others that I had in...

Also, I just noticed it looks like you have it planted in Coir, which if so, that has zero nutes in it for the plant. Coir is treated like hydro, in the sense that you have to water with nutes mixed in every time you water. I didn't know that when I first tried Coir a few years back and lost a...

I separated my Crassula Portulacea (Shrek Plant/ET fingers) and I think it/they look way nicer. Also added some basics back to my collection like Jade plants (bought one with 4 cuttings and separated) and a Zebra Haworthia

Update for the glued flowers... I have some that have taken, you can see below that the flower petals are still sealed and have fallen off, but the new bud/pod remains... I do have some others though that managed to still open up even with the tip glued, which means I just didn't get...

PlanetDesert.com just come some back in stock. They want $26 for one in a 4" pot. Bit pricey, but they look amazing in bloom when they get older.

I thought about crossing those two a while back, but then saw others had already done it. I was going to call it the Reaplah.

You're welcome! It's not my original idea, I found it online and I know others here have used similar methods as well. I just figured I'd make a quick how to guide for anyone who'd like to try it. I could crosspost to the growing sub also so more people can see it too. Might be helpful to some...

Uknow 2018 - The Heat is On!

Decided to try gluing some flowers again this year. Covering the branches with the mesh is a PITA! If I had mesh bags it would be easier, like the paint bags some people use,but their a bit pricey for how many I would need. When it looks like the bud is just about to open, like the day before...

Hey Savina,      I know this post is a year old now, but where did you order your Desert Rose from? Was it a quality plant and do you have any current pics of it?
