Uknow 2018 - The Heat is On!

Hey everyone, yes, I'm still alive! Plants are doing quite well and I didn't lose any of my keepers. I just got the garden cleaned up and brought them outside today. Most will be going into pots or the garden this weekend. I took two 20 gallon totes full of weeds out of the garden by hand today...

My Aji Pineapple always look kinda droopy too once they get above 6 or 7 inches tall. I think it's just how they are.

indoor Is a tent an absolute when using lights?

The main reason I use my homemade tent is for reflecting the outside perimeter light back onto those plants, second reason is to keep some of the heat in.

    what is this crystal stuff?????

Yes, it's edema. Either over-watering or too humid of an environment.

When do you like to transplant?

Yeah that makes sense if you're not looking for huge plants outdoors. Looks like you are growing them in an office of some sorts.

When do you like to transplant?

Well they certainly do look healthy, a bit lenky, but healthy looking none the less. For me, here is the difference between potting up to #1 pots at first set of true leaves, vs. leaving my extras/spares I leave in starter cells/trays.

When do you like to transplant?

Imagine how much bigger it would be if you potted up sooner instead of waiting that long.

Uknow 2018 - The Heat is On!

Yeah, I have the 8" fan and two 4" fans in the tent, plus and an oscillating 16" fan blowing on them 24/7 from outside the tent. Pretty sure they are just unpleasable at this point

Uknow 2018 - The Heat is On!

Thanks man! Some plants have it and others don't, as you can see in the pics. Plus it's not crippling edema, they are still growing just fine, so I'm going to just keep on doing my thing. I'm 98% sure at this point it's a humidity issue and not over-watering. I could run my dehumidifier in...

Uknow 2018 - The Heat is On!

Alright, time for a proper update! It's been a hot minute since the last one. I have my watering dialed in to about every 4 days (about when they start wilting) with 5oz or so per plant for the larger plants. Still dealing with some edema. Even the smaller plants in the new Pro-Mix HP that...

Uknow 2018 - The Heat is On!

Man, I'm in Scottsdale, AZ for work this week. Got in to Phoenix late last night. I've been here a few times now and everytime I come back, I want to stay forever more and more! Lol. The weather here is beautiful, landscape is awesome. I don't have very good pics, just standing outside the...

Uknow 2018 - The Heat is On!

Yeah I plan on eventually going to actual grown tent material with a door that zips open and I can roll up to the top like tent doors.

Uknow 2018 - The Heat is On!

Yeah, that's mylar blankets stuck to cardboard with double sided tape to make it rigid. I used just mylar before taped to the frame, but it flops around in the wind from the fans creating noise and it rips if you look at it the wrong way. Now, with it stuck to the cardboard, no noise and no...

When do you like to transplant?

Sooner the better is my theory. I start them in 72 cell trays and as soon as the 1st true leaves are about a half inch in length, I pot them up into #1 pots. I like to get them potted up before the roots start touching the sides or coming out the drainage holes. In my opinion, the less you...

Uknow 2018 - The Heat is On!

Hey everyone, it's been a couple weeks. I finally have all my keepers for the season potted up. Just need to give away the extras and then it'll just be watering and normal maintenance for the rest of the season. I think my early edema was due to humidity levels more than my initial...
