    Molasses

The idea of using it in a foliar feed is about on par with the scariest horror films i've seen in terms of fright factor. Who would win in a faceoff? Aphidocalypse or Freddy Krueger?

    When to allow pods?

If your Hot Paper Lantern is anything like the one I grew in '17 then it will meet the deadline and the supply for that chili contest. It's the most productive plant I have had so far.   *I grew mine in a raised bed with good depth & 40% shade cloth.

    Hot weather

Are they in black containers? If so, perhaps spray painting them white will help. You could also construct a simple and quite cheap shade cloth contraption with burlap. Mulch as much as the pot has space for.

    Aji Amarillo

I grew it once many years ago along side 23 other pepper varieties (chinense and baccatums). Do not recall seed source.   Mine grew fairly large and was rather lanky. It would have really benefited with cage/stakes. Of all the varieties that year, my Aji Amarillo and Giant Mexican Rocoto were...

Big pods wanted - 2018 edition (what delicious superhots come in jumbo form)

Ah, damn. Big Mustard Mama was on my '19 grow. I was hoping to grow out a bunch of green/mustard varieties and pick my favorite in terms of flavor and productivity. I'm doing this for homemade guacamole. I love jalapeños, but I wanted to kick the heat up a couple notches, and add a bit of...

Big pods wanted - 2018 edition (what delicious superhots come in jumbo form)

Alright. Here is my only other suggestion.   The Chocolate Ghost Monster from Fords Fiery Foods.    I cannot vouch for them, but I am currently growing them!   Description from site:   "These are not like usual ghost, much larger and WAY hotter Open pollinated, pods are 4-7 inches long and super...

Big pods wanted - 2018 edition (what delicious superhots come in jumbo form)

How about the 7 Pot Evergreen? They look monstrous.   *I plan on growing them in '19   Not sure about the flavor. I will be growing them for their size and color (for homemade guac).

    BER?

Bells are especially susceptible to BER compared to other peppers in my experience.

Small, Sweet, not so Hots - Advice

I'd definitely add some of the lower heat baccatums in there as they're generally well-received and people will appreciate the different flavor.   My Aji Limon was a total hit with friends, family, and even some chefs I chatted with at a restaurant in Napa.    There are of course lower heat...

    Flowering too soon??

I never pluck them. If you do then you might regret it later when aborts happen from too intense heat, lack of pollination, et cetera .02   If you want growth, then first make sure it's ideal pot size and you've already hit it with nitrogen. It looks to be about a 4.5-5 gallon? That should be...

    Companion Planting

I have a wall of garlic chives and onion chives around the parameter of my main pepper bed. Honestly not sure if it's helping but this bed doesn't have any insect problems, nor did it last year...   Bonus: they are perennial like my peppers and I overwinter the entire bed :)   Love the thread...

    Strange growths

Might be easier going that route in Panama :) I'd probably have less luck with straight to ground approach. With enough cuttings i'm sure some would take though! I'm working on a DIY cloning box for indoor cutting propagation right now for peppers and others. Honestly, i'd rather be in Panama...

pests Aphids are ruining my fun.

I still say ladybugs with an enclosure so they stick around long enough to lay eggs. I think planting some perennial flowers specifically for ladybug population is a great idea too for a long-term strategy.

chinense Aji Painapple (Aji Pineapple X Butch T yellow scorpion)

This is super rad. Love the idea and love the name.

    chinense Chilli Tests "Tasmanian Habanero"

Guesstimate on the scovilles?    "ultra hot" is what I call peppers that I deem in a hotter category than "super hots"...   **edit: oops didn't realize how old the post was.

Just when you think you've seen it all

So the consensus is that it's legit? I'm quite skeptical still.

    Anyone sun dry peppers?

^What Geeme said. That's how my grandmother would always dry hers. There were strings upon strings of those things drying whenever my family would visit. Really neat to see. I'd avoid putting them in direct sunshine though as I think that will leech the color out pretty quick..

What's up with my new leaves? Very green and shriveled.

Easy there, chief. People are just offering the assistance the OP is asking for..

Naga viper and Carolina reaper flower drooping

My summers have a long 100+ stretch. Once I added 40% shade cloth to the mix I got better fruit production. Next step is some companion perennial flowers for pollination.
