    HeatMiser's 2021 Glog

Quite a few exciting news today...   First of all, we have the Annuum group of 5 gal Kratkys. They are definitely putting on the growth and all of them are flowering at the moment   Of these 3, I'm currently most excited for the Zapotec Jalapeno (left). I can now start my Jalapeno projects, so...

    PaulG 2021

Plants are looking great Paul!   Seems like you and I are having better luck than last year at this point in our grows!

Thanks DR! - so far so good - it's starting to grow side shoots. I can't let one plant get too tall since most of them are kind of squatty at this point, so it had to take one for the team. Still excited to try this one after all the hype.         I agree with Paul here. Why the hesitation? :)...

    Next to My Chair Revival

Looking good E!   I'm also a bit jealous that you're already taking them out to bask in the sun. We still have at least one more month of gray-ish weather in this corner of the country.

    HeatMiser's 2021 Glog

Thanks Paul, I'm still a bit nervous about the coir plants since I haven't grown anything outdoors in a long time. Hopefully I'll be able to get the plants to fruit.   I feel a bit more comfortable with the Kratkys now since this is my third grow using that method. So far so good with those...

    CaneDog 2021

Having to replace the tubes almost made me quit, since lighting is the most expensive part of (at least my) indoor grows. I don't have to replace 100% of the tubes every grow (8 tubes total), but I do have to have a 5-pack available because there will certainly be casualties during the season.

I was going to ask about the bulbs you buy CD, since I haven't had an issue with light intensity from T5s even when the plants are a couple of inches from the fixture. I'm using the same lights you posted, but in the 2ft long version. So far so good...     In my experience, T5s last about 1...

    HeatMiser's 2021 Glog

Some of the space issues from last week have been resolved, at least temporarily. These are the plants in coco that I'm going to keep for the rest of the season:     I had to top the Piri-Piri on the right since it was getting too tall, but otherwise the plants seem to be enjoying the light...

    HeatMiser's 2021 Glog

Thanks Paul, I plan to turn these pods into powder for those times you just need to make something hotter without affecting its flavor that much. Even if the pods were not edible we'd still grow them - my wife always comments on how much she likes the colors on the plant. I guess my grows will...

I can attest to this! I really need my Maple Bacon Bar fix from Voodoo Doughnut!

    HeatMiser's 2021 Glog

Thanks CD, I really feel good about the mystery pepper. On small grows like mine, it is hard to drop in seeds for plants you know nothing about, but in this case I consider myself lucky that I got a variety that is really productive and with some traits that I would like to propagate to other...

    HeatMiser's 2021 Glog

I'm officially running out of space... The coco plants are getting real cozy under the 2 ft. t5 light fixture. Good thing is that some of those plants are going to be moving out soon, leaving me with a more manageable number of plants for the space I have indoors.   Here's one of the last pics...

    HeatMiser's 2021 Glog

Thanks Paul!    The Twilight is one of my favorite varieties due to the color transition the pods go through. It's definitely an eye catcher. One thing I noticed this time is that the colors (especially purple) are not as vivid. Maybe this has something to do with it being an indoor plant...

    Downriver - 2021

Good luck on the grow DR!    I see you also keep a seed database? Will be interesting to see the germination rate on some of the older varieties you are growing - did you soak them before setting them on the paper towels? I'm kinda doing the same thing with restocking varieties I have from as...

    Tybo2021

Looking good Tybo! I like the goat "herd", what are your plans for all those pods?   Don't know why you're having issues with the seeds from superhotchiles.com. I ordered a few packs from them last year and had good success overall. I'd definitely get some more from them.   Anyway, will be...

    HM's Second Attempt for 2020

Well, I haven't posted here in a while and I think it's time to officially end this glog.   I have to say I still have one Jalafuego that is living in my kitchen as a bonchi:   It's going to take a while to grow back its foliage, but it seems to be doing OK in that little pot.   Compared to the...

    Variegated Jalapeno Grow Log

Here's my hydro VJ     These plants are interesting. Definitely the slowest growing plants I've seen in hydro. It doesn't drink much either, but it seems to be doing OK despite having two leaves that started to shrivel up. Hopefully soon I'll get a couple flowers from it.   It might be...

    CaneDog 2021

Oh boy it sure looks like you've been busy CD! Can't wait to see those plots of yours later in the season.         Lol! this must be your way of stressing the plants to make sure you get hotter pods! We all know you're keeping both Datils ;).    Anyway, more rain on the forecast. Hopefully it'll...

    HeatMiser's 2021 Glog

It's been quite busy over here, with no signs of stopping any time soon. The plants don't seem to mind too much, but there are a couple that seem to resent the lack of attention a little bit.   Here's where things stand now:   The coco plants are making steady progress. Most of the annuums have...

    HeatMiser's 2021 Glog

Thanks CD, yes, it's only a matter of time before I run out of room, which is a good problem to have. I'm really looking forward to trying out the pods on the Mystery, so I hope it is close to ripening.    I also hope the nutrient availability in the AAD lends itself to big pods. I'm really...
