    My pepper journey

A little update, my topped pepper is shooting out crazy new growth. My untopped is preparing for setting fruit it seems. My tomato has some tomatos getting bigger but I keep underwatering it so it's slow. All while 0-10°

contest Growdown Throwdown 2018 Yellow Brain Strain!

So, pretty embarrassed about my results so far, but I've been growing 24/7 with cheap blurple Wal-Mart grow lights in my closet so what can I really expect. Anyways, 2 left see YBS, the pod with 2 in it is aji Chile, and the 2 big sickly looking ones are aji dulce; which started life in...

    TBG's First Chilli Blitz! (2017-18)

Hey TBG, great progress! So jealous of all the podage I can't wait to get my own plants going. As it snows, again, here lol. Good luck on your hemisphere/ regional grow down as well

    seeds Breatheable Containers for Seedlings

That'd be interesting!       I imagine this is similar to the material on the outside of those jiffy soil seed pods, the roots grow right through it but it holds the soil       The expensive route may be a season or two down the road, I was just interested in common household ideas for a...

    seeds Breatheable Containers for Seedlings

Hey everyone, quick idea here.   I have been interested in trying smart pots for my peppers this year, as to avoid root circling etcetc..   However, while plants are still very small (lets say 6 inches or less) what are some ideas for "Starter" breatheable containers?   I know a lot of people...

    Powder making tips

I think then, based off of this, that I'll hopefully have them either freeze them all or freeze half // smoke&dry half.   Freezing would be easiest for them to just harvest and store in the freezer awaiting my return, but my folks did just get a bluetooth capable smoker :metal: so hopefully...

I've just noticed my YBS hook this morning as well! It seems the seed pods of dirt are working better than rock wool.

    My pepper journey

Few updates, got a baby tomato coming along. About the size of a pea currently. As well as a proposed list of peppers I'm going to grow. Considering smart pots and fox farms soil but idk how fiscally responsible that is as opposed to just getting a few bags of manure and putting them in the...

contest Growdown Throwdown 2018 Yellow Brain Strain!

I have been keeping my house around 64 to 65゚ and my heat mat says it will warm my seeds 10 to 20゚ hotter so I think I'm in a good rains range, mid to high 70s for the seeds hopefully

    My pepper journey

Oh damn, so keeping them in my freezer probably isn't going to help? Lol I cam just go ahead and dump em in my compost bin hopefully they can breakdown a bit. Was planning on potting up around March

    My pepper journey

So, I am planning on putting at least 10 peppers in 5 gal pots, and had a question over adding eggshells to soil.   I've been saving all my eggshells and grinding them up in a blender, I've got about 1 1/2 gatorade bottles of powdered shell saved up (16oz bottles I believe);   Is there such...

contest Growdown Throwdown 2018 Yellow Brain Strain!

Unrelated sort of but I got another variety from PG that I started either the 27th or 28th and I have 2 hooks already. NOT YBS. Maybe it's indicative of the reliability of seeds. I've only had them in a moisture dome and heating pad about half the germination time. Hopefully our YBS show...

    Powder making tips

Ah sorry I misread that. Sounds like drying them and storing in mason jars might be the best route until I can get around and process them further. They're not quite as passionate about this stuff as I am, though they sure do love to reap the benefits of the finished products!

    Powder making tips

So you take multiple varieties and blend them together? Any regrets with that, wishing perhaps you had seperated the powders?   Also, how do you consume your powder? Meaning is it required to cook it into the food or can you sprinkle it on top as you would salt/pepper?   Thanks again   EDIT...

    Powder making tips

Hey everyone, I have previously been really into making my own hot sauce out of ghost and habenero peppers; however, it is a possibility I could be missing out on the harvesting portion of the growing season this year - and rather than burden my folks with mass producing sauces for me I think...
