New member, looking for tips on growing hot peppers

For slugs, I've tried everything. I've done traps, egg shells, sand, etc. The best results I've found was with Natria (Bayer) Snail & Slug bait. The active ingredient is Iron Phosphate. It makes the slugs feel full so they don't eat. It attracts them...and murders them. I have pretty bad...

    Am I in trouble?

The peppers are pubes for sure. The tom's are 17 goin on 30 lol...Pretty sweet transition/transplant this year. I think they're enjoying the temp being in the 70's past few weeks and the rains. I'm doing a lil experiment with pinching to see what my yields are. I'm interested to see how the toms...

    Am I in trouble?

I've never had temps drop this low in mid May. We're experiencing mid-40's all week. During the day, we get up to 62-68, but at night, the temps drop down to 40-45. Never below 40 though.    Have you guys experienced this before? Are my tom's & pepp's in trouble? I'm in Mid TN btw

    Help! I need a diagnosis

I'd snip off those pods and flowers too since they're under so much stress.

    My flowers keep falling

I'd let that guy dry out for a week. It won't hurt. The roots will stretch.

    sun Sun burnt plants

You gotta cut the damaged leaves out ASAP. If you don't, the plant will continue to throw energy towards the damaged leaves, stunting new growth. I had this happen to me this year. They wouldn't grow any more. As soon as I cut off the damaged leaves...BOOM!

    What's going on here then

Your plant is living paycheck to paycheck and just got fired! The roots can't uptake the nutrients to fulfill the orders of the cells so even older established leaves are having infrastructure depleted to keep up with the demand.    Re-pot, fertilize, water, and throw some epsom at it. (I...

    Dragon Cayenne

I'm super excited! My favorite pepper is the pequin because it's compact & packs a punch. You can chomp on the whole pepper raw, getting tears instead of an aneurysm! I'm hoping that the dragon will have that compact punch too.

    Staking and trellising peppers

If you prune them up to the V in the stalk, the stem/stalk will thicken up. I wait until the plant is fairly acclimated and growing well before I do this, depending on pests, color, weather. I snip off blooms until the plant gets close to maturity height, allowing the support structure to...

pruning A Simple Guide to Topping and Pruning

I'd be happy to match yields with you. There's a big difference in pruning and topping. Topping early in a plant's life does NOT increase pepper yields. That's a mistake. Topping late in the season will increase yield but should ONLY be done after the plant has reached maturity. I prune up to...

water Leaves yellow, overwatering or malnutrition?

A fish emulsion 5-0-0 would probably cure it. It will take a couple few weeks though. I'd lower potassium adding for a little while just in case it's a magnesium problem. (Higher potassium ratios can increase the likelihood of magnesium deficiency because the K will inhibit uptake of the Mg.)

Stunted Pepper Plants & Coffee Grounds

It takes more than a few months for the grounds to decompose. The main benefit is earthworm food in the short term. http://extension.oregonstate.edu/lane/sites/default/files/CoffeeGrdTrial.pdf
