    soil Can I use topsoil as potting mix? Any way to transform it?

    I bought some HD manure/potting soil but didn't put anything else in it and it's doing way better than my normal florida dirt, the natural dirt is pretty dense, should I dig that up and mix some perlite in?

    I started harvesting my canal for compost, there's a few hundred pounds of dead leaves on my end they're less than an inch wide and are about 2-4 feet long I put them in my old recycling bin and put some dirt on top, do I just sit and wait?

    florida sun is way too hot for pepper plants, put some shade cloth over them or keep them in the shade in the wild, pepper plants are usually surrounded by bigger plants that provide shade   they're not built to be in full sun also invest in mulch, even in the shade it's hot and water gets out...
