    Can't fix blossom drop!

Peak might be a tad hot, and probably too dry. Peppers are tropical plants, they like it wet and warm. Give them less water + turn on a fan, instead of using a dehumidifier to treat for edema (you didn't need to chop off those leaves btw, if it was edema instead of a fungal infection).

    temperature VS light

Everything that geeme said ^.   Just to comment on the night time temps point, like insects, the general growth rate of plants have a direct positive relationship to the ambient temperature (at least in the range that they do grow). As we want faster growth with seedlings, I would safely assume...

Intensifying light by isolating and reflecting

Hey dragon49, how about doubling up on what you did last year and get more side-lighting? As for a reflective enclosure--if you can afford it, why not? Every little bit helps after all. Think about lasers--take a tiny light source and you reflect it into just one direction, you end up with some...

    spidermites

regularly hosing the leaves can help reduce the numbers--they don't grow resistance to physical removal. guessing you're inside? can't really do much if they're abundant in the vegetation around your place, they will come in riding on a breeze whenever the windows are open, and once they're in...

Thrips battle pt2 - predatory mite experiment! :)

So, think it could work for an enclosed growing space (as humanity still lacks the technology to fine tune the weather--if we did bye bye to global warming). The newer negative ion emitters marketed as air purifiers instead of health aids seem to be able to produce in pretty large quantities...

Thrips battle pt2 - predatory mite experiment! :)

Although the efficacy of predatory mites have been established...I was thinking about alternatives. For example, does anybody know how thrips (or other small arthropod pest ie spider mites) interact with an increase of atmospheric anions?

Cacao - The food of the Gods

Great, your plants are giving you an early start. You reckon they're of the self-sterile type?

Hey OF1, looks like a lot is going on in your greenhouse. What else do you have growing that is interesting, apart from the peppers?

    overwintering Overwinter or Taking Cutting

^ I have used pwb's method on mature plants to deal with mite outbreaks before (actually using a shower head instead of dipping) with good results. All of the plants survived, although some of the tender new growth did shrivel up.

Will this work? Feel free to laugh if it's a stupid idea lol

I've had the same happen to me quite frequently. Should work as long as the joint is tight and the cuts are fresh.

    Rose bush from 1896

Awesome. We have a 50 year old xmas cactus--it passed into my mother's hands after her mother passed away last year. I took some cuttings because they remind me of grandma...hope it can stay with the family for years to come, like that rose bush of yours.

    Fungicide - Homemade?

Kind of like mixing vinger and baking powder. First of all, the H202 would be (partially) consumed disinfecting the milk instead of your rose bush. The higher pH of the milk (relative to a pure H202 solution) would increase the super oxide radical release rate and the extra radicals could...
