water underwater looking - just one branch

Glad to hear that the plant survived such a massive beating from the wind! So, are you saying that the small wilting branch came back to life and has now grown into a happy little branch itself?

    breeding Hybrids good or bad?

To build on others' comments:     Diversity = Power (plus a lot more fun). Although as everybody repeats, maintaining original lines is also an important aspect of diversity.     Good example of hybridization going in a more unsavory (if not "wrong") direction. Definitely what we see with...

    My babies

Oh, that is just lovely! Wish I had the time to start some more plants. Kind of missed the sprouting season this year because I was travelling.

    using coffee grinds

I would totally agree with everybody about either tilling in or composting. From my experience, just clumped on the surface and if you manage to actually keep it moist, you end up with lovely patches of mold growing around the feet of your plant.

I have buds , what now

Right! I do kinda suffer from the dilemma of needing to nuke any new soil that I add to my sheltered indoor growing environment in order to keep out novel pathogens and pests, and then not having as healthy a soil ecosystem as would be optimal... Any suggestions? Other than the obvious of...

    Bought a good sprayer

Actually I think the antimicrobial properties would be good because you get less foreign microbes to contaminate your AACT. As for what's in your soup, only those that are in contact with the copper surface would perish.   Of course, you would have to keep the PH up (per SanPatricio's...

I have buds , what now

Oyster shell lime. Good for increasing PH and adding calcium to the soil. Question is how much is bio-available, as Cayennemist mentioned.

    Transplanting depth

Noah's approach seems the responsible and cautious way. Personally, I plant deep when potting up only if I feel the root ball hasn't been growing as vigorously as it should. My precautions are to use an healthy medium. The stem seems to root better in high humidity and moderate light. Also...

Help! to ID symptom: grainy bumps only on undersides of leaves

Just an update, I've continued my observation of the two plants that were hit the hardest. I have doubts as to the condition being oedema caused by overwatering persay.   At the point of my last post, they hadn't been watered for 5 days. They're in small see through pots, so I could tell the...

    Strange threads emerging from leaf.

You know, everyonce in a while, lacewing eggs are mistaken as udambara flowers in China and Korea (for example when they lay them auspiciously on the forehead of a statue of buddha). Udambaras are supposed to flower approximately every 3,000 years when a new buddha is born.

    lighting Lighting Question Please

Hi SL3, might be off topic, but personally I've also had some leggy seedlings sprouted simultaneously from the same seeds. Sometimes they even put on more true leaves faster too, but when I get around to transplanting themvoila, they have roots that are only half the size of the ones growing...

Help! to ID symptom: grainy bumps only on undersides of leaves

Thank you Nightshade! That's a big relief.   Just one question: how come it looks different from the oedema I induced by intentionally over watering, pics on the net, or oedema that I've seen on other plants? I had ruled out oedema because the bumps were distributed evenly all over the leaf...

Help! to ID symptom: grainy bumps only on undersides of leaves

Hey guys, I'm new to indoor growing since last fall when I brought my plants in from the balcony of my old apt to my new place--managed to deal with multiple mite outbreaks, exterminate a fungus gnat infestation, but I'm stumped with this one. Hope someone can help me identify and if necessary...
