Oh, that is just lovely! Wish I had the time to start some more plants. Kind of missed the sprouting season this year because I was travelling.

I would totally agree with everybody about either tilling in or composting. From my experience, just clumped on the surface and if you manage to actually keep it moist, you end up with lovely patches of mold growing around the feet of your plant.

Noah's approach seems the responsible and cautious way. Personally, I plant deep when potting up only if I feel the root ball hasn't been growing as vigorously as it should. My precautions are to use an healthy medium. The stem seems to root better in high humidity and moderate light. Also...

You know, everyonce in a while, lacewing eggs are mistaken as udambara flowers in China and Korea (for example when they lay them auspiciously on the forehead of a statue of buddha). Udambaras are supposed to flower approximately every 3,000 years when a new buddha is born.

Hi SL3, might be off topic, but personally I've also had some leggy seedlings sprouted simultaneously from the same seeds. Sometimes they even put on more true leaves faster too, but when I get around to transplanting themvoila, they have roots that are only half the size of the ones growing...
