Another thing to keep in mind with cfls.. Their lumen output and color accuracy drop off quicker than any other type of bulb. If those bulbs were used for a period of time, say months, they most likely have lost a lot of their lumen output and the color wont be as accurate as when new.
Patrick. Thank you. I will give a light dose of calmag next watering.
Dulac Thank you. I haven't spoken with anyone else who grows cayenne and your observations on light are helpful.
Nope, Cant rub em off. Some spots have turned orange brown.
I must have a crappy moisture meter! lol
My ph is a bit high. Right at 7 on my crappy meter. I water with 6-6.5 but the medium I'm growing in seems to buffer it right back to 7.0.
Thanks everybody.
I have a yellow sticky trap in there and see no signs of bugs.
I failed to mention that I have 3 plants and they all look like this with the exception of the other two being lighter in color.
The seeds were supposed to be for 2011 ( so a year old ) and they are a free long...
Thanks megahot. No white bumps, I looked for them. They were given a 1/4 dose of General Hydroponics fert about 3 weeks ago. I did give them a dose of calmag about 4 weeks ago.
Hello all.
I have three cayenne plants that were doing well until about a week or so ago. Growth slowed and new growth is underdeveloped and curled up.
I use a moisture meter and wait until they are almost completely dry before watering.
Using a 400w metal halide that was about 20 inches...
Hello everyone.
I have been watering my 3 cayenne plants with my well water that has a ph of 7.0. I have been adjusting it to 6.5 before watering my plants.
One plant is fantastic, the other two are growing very dense, with light green foliage.
I picked up a soil ph meter and found that the...
Hi Megahot.
I'm new to this forum but not repotting.
Watering a bit before transplanting has always helped me. It actually kept things together.
I recently overwaterd some plants and they got limp but came back after leaving them alone.
Best of luck!
Thanks Spanky, So far I like it. It is designed for decent water retention so I have to be careful not to overwater. Not a lot of nutrients in it so you supposedly have more flexibility with adding nutrients. I wanted to use Promix BX but couldn't find any locally.
Hello,
I am new to growing peppers. I have 3 cayenne right now that are just over a month old.
They have been two feet under a 400 watt metal halide for the last week, previously under fluorescent lighting.
using roots 707 soil mix.
Overall I am pretty happy so far.
I think I may have been...
