    Smokenmirraz Melbourne Miracle

I picked up a few more items from the hardware store today: 2 x Jay's Red Ghost Scorpion, and a dwarf Meyer lemon.  The Jay's Red Ghost Scorpion were added to the far right of the picture, and the Meyer lemon to the far left.    As Summer is here now, and with a week of average 30deg C weather...

    Smokenmirraz Melbourne Miracle

Hi Luke   I planted the whole pot this time for the new seedlings.  The seedlings wilted in yesterday's warmth and I gave them a little drink.  Today, some of the leaves looked a little sun damaged.

    Masters and The Chilli Factory

For those curious, Masters are still selling these chillies, although it can be a little difficult to locate stores that sell particular varieties.  I was after some Carolina Reaper, Red Bhut, and Butch T plants and the stores on my side of town had no stock.  I contacted Masters via email and...

The pellets are an organic fertilizer based on composted poultry manure called "Rooster Booster".  It's a fairly gentle organic fertilizer that I apply liberally.   Analysis:   Nitrogen (N)              As Organic                    3.0 Phosphorus (P)        As Citrate Soluble        2.0...

    Smokenmirraz Melbourne Miracle

Hi, I'm Smokenmirraz and I live in Melbourne, Australia.  The miracle part of the topic title is getting weather warm enough to grow super hots!  I'll try to add updates once a month or so.   I've grown chillies from seed in the past, but these days I'm not that motivated.  At the moment, most...

2014/2015 grow log - melbourne, victoria

Congrats on the new house and plant growth so far.   FWIW, I've grown rocotos in Melbourne and they survive the winter pretty well.

    Carolina Reaper (HP22B) Community Grow

Having skimmed most of this thread, some of which was amusing, I've decided to join the band wagon and start some seeds sourced from an enterprising ebayer here in Australia:

    Masters and The Chilli Factory

I checked out a couple of Masters stores in the north of Melbourne last weekend.  One store had what looked like stunted, yellowing, poorly grown seedlings for $5 each.  As they looked so bad, I didn't purchase any.

    Swampys Kiwi grow.

I like your really clean green house setup and growth so far.  Back when I had a green house, it didn't stay clean for long!

tutorial The Comprehensive Guide to Over-Wintering

Spring has sprung in the southern hemisphere :)   Here's a group shot of my overwintered chilli plants in Melbourne, Australia.  The middle plant, a Trinidad 7 Pot, has not stopped growing, and is flowering already.  The two outsiders on the left and right, red and yellow bhut jolokias, don't...

pics New Grower w/Pics and a Problem :)

I am growing a handful of those Masters chillies as well, although I started pretty late and accidentally killed a couple of them through over watering!  Finally got to try a home grown fresh yellow bhut last week, and even though it was small it was pretty hot.  I ate mine for breakfast so I...

    Sarge's 2013 - Sydney, Some extreme variations!

Looking good, Sarge :)   Not sure about the lack of flowering on your hydro plant, especially if all other non hydro plants are flowering.  Maybe call up or visit a couple of local hydro shops?

harvesting rocoto/manzano harvest time in Australia

Very impressed with your growth with the rocotos, especially since they are in pots.   I grew a rocoto in my backyard in the ground in Melbourne for 5 years plus.  I had to prune it every year to keep it under control.  So many chillies.
