Just a thought, is it possible that your plant caught a whiff of some type of herbicide? Anyone doing any spraying nearby recently? Other than that, it doesn't really look like any of the things that you mentioned, except maybe aphids. If you are sure there is no possibility of herbicide drift...

Well, I got a big FU from mother nature this week. My plant just set at least a thousand pods but the weather has went downhill fast, so probably won't get to weigh any of those. No way of moving this big bastard, so the end may be near for me... Total: 2,776g

Agreed. I don't think a plant would need to focus much energy into a pod that has already matured. It is basically just waiting to rot and fall off so it can spread it's seed and reproduce.

As you said, plants tend to cycle between vegetative growth and flowering, so I make sure to give them a good shot of nitrogen after a big harvest to encourage new growth and a more consistent pod set over the entire plant. The weather also plays a pretty big factor in that. Living in the south...

I never leave seed stock pods on that long either and I have 90+ percent germination rate as well. I agree though, they definitely need to sit for a bit after ripening. Soft and past the fresh-looking stage is when I pull them for seed.

Im getting down to the last of the pods that set a while back. My plan was to pick them all at once for a massive weigh-in, but my scale had other plans, so i'm having to keep the pulls under 300g. This recent wave has produced over 1,700 grams of pure evil! Total: 2,143
