The dehydrator is still going strong!  I feel that I made a very wise choice purchasing this one. 

You do realize that  a PH meter will require recalibration and QC testing?  Plus, they cost a good bit of money to get a reliable one.  Why not just buy some PH test strips?  A very inexpensive alernative.    I have been measuring PH for over 20 years and these ones look pretty good to me...

Whoa!  What do you do with all those peppers?  Do you have any other food items in your diet?  LOL....  And lordy be, how do you cut all those and so thin?    I am truely impressed!  Great job!  I would love to have all those Jalapenos!

Just an update...  The chives took over a day at 100 degrees!  Perhaps I packed it a bit too much, but well I cut too many...   And I left them in 4 inch pieces.  But in the meanwhile I read that they would have no flavor after all that! :(  But guess what?  They are spectacular in flavor! ...

I can recall when I bought my seeds that Burpee had at least one large variety.  And I just looked and they actually have two.  One is a hybrid that reaches 5 inches.  Now I wonder, will you get less peppers though?   I would just assume have a greater number of smaller and faster maturing ones...

Very cold at night here in PA right now.  Have to wear a sweater to go outside. Many years we hit the upper 90's at this time.  We are about 20 degress under that during the day.  Plus the rain just won't go away.   Have more gardening to do and it's just too cold.  I always work in the evening...

Place a small disposable cup in your garden soil in a few spots depending on garden size, and mark the 1/2 inch point inside the cup. Once you hit that you have watered a half an inch. For pots wait until dry and water until it comes out the bottom.

If ever unsure, what does one more watering hurt? Just water the heck out of them, ( not a short one) and if they were under watered they should start picking up a tidge in minutes. And should continue to improve throughout the day. If they don't pick up, then whoopsie.... Yeah I would hold off...
