I wonder if freezing them in water would help protect them during the freezing process. Probably not but now I've thought of it I'm going to try it with a few.

Personally I think it tastes great and is very hot, I'm not sure how to judge the heat or what to judge it against though.

Since the chilli's i'm growing now are quite small I sometimes put them into a garlic crusher which juices them really well and keeps all the pulp and seeds within the crusher. The colour of the liquid that comes from them is amazing, a really vibrant red.

If you look at the website for the International Federation for Competitive Eating it says that the previous record was for '177 pickled peppers in 15 minutes'. Wouldn't it be a bit of a jump to eat 70 more peppers in just over half the time if they were fresh? I also don't think you could...

Thanks for the welcome :) I don't think that is the plant though, the chilli's look too elongated, these are about 3/4" long 1/4" wide. The flowers on my plant were also very small, only about 1/3" wide and white in colour. I thought it might be 'chinese 5 colour', they do go a bit yellow...

They should have tried it with ones that weren't pickled.
