    overwintering Winterizing pepper plants

You can prune the heck out of them, move them to 5 gal buckets, and bring them in. I quit overwintering plants a long time ago. I prefer to take a ton of cuttings and clone them. That way you'll take up almost no space and have a ton of plants ready to go next year

    Hydro details

There's no need to rush things. When raising your nutrient level you must remember that plants will go through periods of drinking water and then they'll go through periods of feeding. They will also cherry pick certain nutes from time to time. Be patient!!

    New pepper grower questions

ALL plants have a great survival gene in their DNA. Water when the leaves start to weep and fertilize every 4 to 6 weeks. There's no need to baby any plant

    Hydro details

HM or Hanna make good testers and you can buy them from Amazon, Ebay, or a hydro store. Peroxide kills all of the uglies on plant roots and I've used concentrations of 1 cup : 1 Gallon of water with zero ill effects. I soaked plants for 5 minutes in a strong concentration to kill a fungus gnat...

    nutrients nutrients

Are we talking about soil nutrients or Hydroponic nutrients? I use cheap 10-10-10 for dirt and I use to use General Hydroponics Maxigrow and Maxibloom. For hydro I now use nutes from hydrogardens, it's cheaper and kicks ass

media peat pucks, or rock wool?

Rockwool always wins out to peat in my opinion, but how about an alternative to both? I prefer Rapid Rooter/ Super Plugs. They seem to hold the right amount of moisture for cloning and germination. I get excellent results

    Solar powered hydro setup?

Rain water collected from a flood table will only help you. There aren't any down sides. All you have to do is drill a hole in the side of your reservoir and it will act as an over flow. The rain water might affect your PH a little, but it will not displace your nutes Are you wanting to build a...

    aeroponics/root space?

Peroxide does work great on root rot, but I don't fool with it. I make my plants work their asses off. I'm quickly running out of hydro space. That Thai plant got potted up in a container full of dirt this weekend.

Changing the reservoir on DWC bucket...

A flood table is much more versatile. You can swap crops whenever you need to. I take a keep it simple approach to hydro. I've never changed a reservoir. I just add water and nutes when needed. Plants exceed expectations every year

take a bowl of water and add 2 tablepoons or so of hydrogen peroxide and dunk the roots until most of the dirt comes off. A little dirt wont harm hydro systems. GH makes a ton of nutes, can you be more specific?

    Plant spacing

Yep. I have several beds on 12" centers. I do prefer 18"-24" though. You can also take your cutting and clone them. You'll never have to germinate a seed again

    Solar powered hydro setup?

Why not just use a boat 12v bilge pump (make sure it's oil less) and build a flood table? You only have to flood a table long enough to wet the roots and let it shut off. 4 or 5 floods a day will be more than enough. Head pressure will be the biggest obstacle to hurtle. Cheap pumps just can't...

    aeroponics/root space?

Here are 2 more pics I took a few hours ago. This is a 2 foot tall Thai plant and it's flowering like mad and it's way over due to be transplanted. You'll see a little root rot because it rained a few days ago and blocked one of my drains. The plants were sitting in 1/2" of water, but they're...

It's the clay for oil spills. the "OilDri" brand wont turn to mud once exposed to water. To test this soak it in water for a few days and make sure it doesn't break down. Works great!
