I've used plain old Vigoro 10-10-10 for years. I learned gardening from my parents who used plain old 10-10-10. I'm almost 100% hydro now, but I still have a few 5 gallon buckets with chilies. They get 1 tablespoon every 6 weeks
I make 4 slashed up and down the sides of a root ball and scratch an X on the bottom with a razor knife. I've done it for 15 years professionally and 20+ years personally. It works like a charm
All hydroponic nutes are sold/marketed to reefer growers, so the prices are RIDICULOUS! I've used Maxigro and Maxibloom for years without a hitch. it's the cheapest "complete" single stage formula. Don't believe all the hype about "mega yields" "super growth"...........
I will let you in on a...
I've been using OilDri in potting/garden mixes for years and it's incredible. It's great for aeration, drainage, and moisture retention. Drop the peat and chunk in several bags and you'll have much better results
A little more info is needed. Is your basement wide open, a single room (dimensions needed), or are you going to use a grow closet? I personally left HPS and MH lights 2 or 3 years ago. I switched to T5's and I've been very pleased. Nearly no heat and less power usage
Be very weary of HD or Lowes buckets. They make them out of any garbage they can find. I get my buckets from bakeries. they're food safe materials. Ask your local grocery store or warehouse club. Costco has always been great at saving them for me.
I've used General Hydroponics Maxigro and Maxibloom for years with great results. I would copy their label! I'm just starting to experiment with nutes from www.hydro-gardens.com (hobby formula) it's looking good, but I'm not prepared to recommend it yet. Hydroponics is far easier and more...
Wow $1 each and supers for $2? Shit I should buy from you! I sell commons (4"- 6" plants) for $5 and supers for $10. I use plastic picnic knives as markers and write on them with a Sharpie. They're great and only cost $5 a thousand.
It's a great idea, but it has a tiny reservoir for so many plants. I would also shade the reservoir because the temperatures will be sky high in the Thailand sun. I use plain white vinegar to adjust the PH. Coir works perfectly in any hydro application. Can you post a pic of how the water gets...
"The hottest chili" is very subjective and I'm sure Scoville would agree. Personally I've had Scorps with a lot of horsepower, but for some reason my 7pods tear me out of the frame. We've all had peppers from the same plant that just don't make the grade. Growing a single pepper to rank high...
I've been growing mouse shitters for almost 20 years now. They excellent and belong in every garden. I went to Chileman.org and printed off their list from each country, but it's about 30 different varieties and most of them seem redundant. Maybe I can score some oddballs. They're leaving in a...
