chinense Is there a favored Mexican orange habanero?

Update: I grew out a CPI (NMSU) purchased Orange Habanero in my grow tent. It passes the eye (fruit shape, plant shape), nose, and taste test! The one I sampled was the hottest orange hab I've had in a long time, but almost everything I grow in the tent seems hotter than normal.

Another bumper crop of misery and anguish, here's to a productive 2023.

It will be interesting to see what those Pepper Joe seeds end up being, as they often end up being something other than what you thought you ordered. Have you heard the expression 'You've been Pepper Joe'd"? Good Luck!

    2023 grow has started!

Yeah, not much at all! I don't even know if they grow upwards or downwards. They certainly did have some good heat and pungent flavor though. They are sold green, but I did manage to find some partially ripened, so fingers crossed that the seeds were mature.

    2023 grow has started!

I just got back from India, so I’m starting a week or two later than normal. Pictured are Surti Marcha or Surat Chili, supposedly the hottest chili used in Gujarat. I’m excited to try and grow some. As they are very similar to Thai chillies, most people wouldn’t be as excited as me to grow...

favorite Help me decide what to grow!

Sorry I'm not of much help in that regard, as I usually go for flavor and versatility, and honestly I think almost all types of pepper plants have an appealing quality.

in-ground Growing Hatch chile in the northeast

Try growing them in containers under a grow light indoors. When I first started growing peppers in a grow tent and spiderfarmer2000 light, I didn't really know what I should be doing with the light intensity. It turned out that having the light at 100% intensity on the adjustment knob bleached...
