Very Cool. I like the flowers.

 Is anyone growing the Purple Bhut this year. This is actually one of the most beautiful pepper plants I have ever seen. And I am very excited to see if I get purple flowers when the time comes.   Purple Bhut  

  I would have thrown in the towel 4 weeks back. My seeds pop in 5-7 days. Longest to date being 12 days, no matter the species.

   Why buy compost tea when you can brew it at home.

 I have not had anything take more than 12 days.

Needs Humidity

Personally I prefer a pH of 6.0 - 6.5. Some nutrients are almost unavailable at 7.0. And peppers prefer a slightly acid soil, 7 is alkaline.

  You can get earth juice in Canada.

 Hot water and peroxide when expanding the pellets. That is why I do not use coir pellets. Peet pellets don't have the gnat problems.

  Plenty of seed sources here in the US. Buckeye Pepper, Refining Fire Chilies, Puckerbutt " Expensive". And shipping only takes a couple days. The only peppers I order from overseas are one's I cannot find in the US.

 I use the double cup method as well. I emailed back and fourth with khang about when to transplant. Here is my Golden Bhut that will be potted up tomorrow. You can see the roots coming out of the bottom.

  That looks to me like bacterial leaf spot. Remove all infected plants away from non infected plants. Cut the leaves on infected plants and leave the baby leaves for photosynthesis.  I ate the Caramel Bih and Caramel Bhut. They where brutal!

  It does cause a slight physical pain. But once you do you it gets easier. And then when you see how it just makes the plant kick into high gear, the pain goes away.
