health Diagnosis Help (yellow spots, brown edges)

Thanks, that's actually a great visual aid. I've been trying to find something like this.

health Diagnosis Help (yellow spots, brown edges)

Growing in Nature's Care potting mix for now, in solo cups.  I just started bottom watering this week, had been from the top prior to that. Pure Blend Pro Grow (3-2-4).   Just worrisome that some leaves are yellowing so much. I hadn't fertilized as much as I should, as early as I should have...

health Diagnosis Help (yellow spots, brown edges)

Second year grower, first year starting inside. I thought maybe the yellow spots I had seen developing recently had been trauma from hardening off in partial sun this past weekend but they're continuing to develop. Feel free to tell me to settle the f*** down, or if I do have a problem, any...

    SeaDud's GLOG

Been having more warmish weather, so hardening off has continued. I had them in the back yard in partial sun for an hour and a half yesterday and they seemed to handle it fine. I've got them on the front porch (north facing) today, and will probably do that for a few hours every day this week...

    SeaDud's GLOG

Haven't been home long enough this week to continue hardening off. Hopefully I'll get them out for a few hours each day this weekend. I'll probably start putting them out for an hour in the morning and an hour at night before/after work.    I've been trying to let them get as dry as possible...

    Recommendations for a Noob

Amazingribs.com is an awesome source of smoking knowledge, like Juanitos mentioned. That thermometer kicks ass as well, but for long hauls, I'd recommend this thermometer, or something like...

    SeaDud's GLOG

Finally a nice day in Chicago. Mid to high 60s, hardening off is a good excuse to sit outside, smoke a cigar, and drink a beer (or several).   Brought them outside for about an hour and a half, partial sunlight, light breeze. They're looking good, although the orange thais look like they're...

    Root-bound question

I was actually just looking at your GLOG and saw the size of some of your plants that were still in plugs. Gave me some peace of mind. :) Awesome GLOG btw, gives me all sorts of ideas for the years ahead!

    Root-bound question

Absolutely! I found that each person who responded gave me a different facet of the same general answer, which is why I love this forum so much. I've learned that I should take full advantage of the size of a starting container (I honestly didn't think about how far away warm weather was...

    Root-bound question

Yeah, I was running low on soil and was too impatient to wait until I could get more. I realized my mistake and will file that under "things not to do again". Thanks for the insight! I've got a handful of mid-size pots laying around so I might top the larger plants and then transplant the next week.

    Root-bound question

Hello all! I'm a second year grower, learning a ton by reading posts and GLOGS here, and I'm uncertain about something and figured you could help.   From what I've read, once a pepper plant becomes root bound it will begin to flower/fruit. That makes sense to me in terms of "I can't grow any...

2016 is Ohjay's year of the habanero

Great GLOG, love the qualities of the photos. Also loved the progression of:  "I'm ONLY starting these." -> "Ok, I'll start a few more." -> "Maybe I'll do a little experiment with lights." -> "Ok, I'm getting more lights." -> "Should probably start more seeds."   I can totally relate! Good luck...

Update: 4/6/2016   Started using a small dose of Pure Blend Pro Grow 3-2-4 in the water this week. I'm fairly inexperienced with nutes and had it laying around, so feel free to let me know if this is a bad balance to be using!   They're growing well, I got a fan and have been leaving it on them...

They're coming along nicely! One is developing some markings on one of the leaves, trying not to be a worry-wart. I'll post pictures tonight! MW represent!

    SeaDud's GLOG

Update   I've been watering every few days, I think I'm in need of a fan, the stems seem a little on the thin side. Can anyone weigh in on this situation? Not sure what kind of fan would work best in this kind of setup.   Besides that, they seem to have decent growth. I haven't used any...
