    My pepper isn't doing anything!

The crystals on the bottom of the leaves are edema, which is harmless. Flowers fall off all the time, even on healthy plants, but unfortunately I'm not sure why your immature peppers would fall off. That is a sign of stress. Do the plants have proper fresh air, and air circulation?

    What is it about Aji?

My aji panca looks just like this! No idea why. If it's over ferting, I'm not sure why it hasn't affected any of my other plants. I think it will go away completely as the plant matures, without me doing anything.

old promix is soggy - what to add?

I dried it out fully, then used it unamended with my least priority plants (the crosses I didn't intend). I didn't want to add my nice amendments ($) because I thought it might be possible that the anaerobic bacteria would have killed or stunted the plants anyway. I'm using the last of my...

old promix is soggy - what to add?

For what it's worth I decided to reuse the soggy pro mix, and it happens to be growing my most productive plants so far.

    Walmart EWC (Earth Worm Castings)

I wouldn't use it. I can get excellent fresh organic EWC delivered by a guy on craigslist for competitive prices. Try checking for other sources first.

    Dirt Cheap ProMix

That's my plan anyway.  Last year I used promix and tomato-tone and nothing but water for some of my plants and had good results.  This year I basically took that and just added composts, perlite, and kelp, and let it sit for 2 weeks before transplanting.  I'll let everyone know how it...

    Dirt Cheap ProMix

It is if you don't mind applying nutrients often, maybe every other watering. That's exactly how I did it for years with great results. I now amend the soil and grow organically, so I can just use water because it's easier.

well, how did you do it?

    Everything was going fine until.

To be honest, if it's aphids or thrips, the problem mostly resolves itself once it's warm enough for me to be able to put the plants outside for the spring. Mites seem to be a little more resilient outside. I've heard azamax works.

Anyone using Potassium Silicate on their plants?

Measuring the cost of nutrients on a per pound basis might not be that meaningful when the amounts used/needed vary so much... In particular in this case you only use a tiny amount of silica.

soil Thoughts on my first soil mix?

Just wanted to make sure you weren't talking about the 20lb bag, which might be pushing it too much.

    KiNGDeNNiZ... keep moving forward!!

Uh oh - I have two plants this year that look exactly like that. Any advice? I don't want them to infect my healthy plants, so I've been considering tossing them.
