Results, a few days later. Interestingly, a lot of the plants may survive.
A couple did not, all of their growth tips were burnt quite severely by the original neem spraying. Perhaps they would have eventually grown new growth tips but I can't wait and need to plan for my final containers.

Beautiful plants man. You use Dyna-Gro Foliage Pro all the way through, right?
Did you wash it with full strength nutrients when planting?
Also beautiful plants. What kind of nutrients did you use? Did you use the same nutrient product/s tor the whole grow and just increase the strength...
Hi, would you mind posting a photo or multiple photos of any plants you have grown in coco coir? Do you know if the coco coir you grew in was "pre-buffered"?
I don't know much about this subject but hopefully we can learn something from sharing.
It seems like many posters in this thread have had great results and it would be beneficial if we could all share our experiences, results and knowledge to not only learn how to grow peppers better in coco...
I'm in the same boat. The majority of the information you will find on the internet will not be cited/backed up by research.
I'm finding it difficult to find objective information about coco coir. There are detailed articles provided by most hydroponic nutrient manufacturers. These articles...
That's wild. I've been using products I don't need this whole time (Cal-Mag, Nutrifield Veg Ignitor and Nutrifield Root Nectar).
I've been trying to stick to approx 1.4 EC or 700ppm. The additives are taking up a good portion of the allocated EC. No additives would mean more main nutrients and...
Thanks for all the information Solid.
It honestly looks like 3-1-2 may be the way to go. I'll try Dyna-Gro Foliage-Pro mixed with calmag.
Foliage pro actually ends up being cheaper than the dry nutes + calmag I have been using which can be simplified to approx 2-1-2.3.
Have you got any...
Thanks for your detailed response. How would you recommend pre-charging it?
The closest fertiliser available here is Dyna-Gro Foliage-Pro. Have you used it before? Do all in one fertilisers like this require the use of a cal-mag supplement?
Thanks mate. I was under the impression that bagged coco didn't need pre-charging. I did sieve it, however. I think I will replant one plant and try pre charging the coco first because I expanded then sieved a canna brick recently.
Hi Solid, thank you for your reply.
I wasn't aware of this until recently. Last season I bought neem oil from a hydroponics shop and it was a liquid. It worked okay but I ended up mainly using synthetic pyrethrins because they were more effective.
Neem is hard to find in my country but...
Thanks Cane. They're honestly looking a lot better already apart from the plants in the green pots. The plants in the green pots have been sprayed with soap and then water again.
Things looked bad but it looks like the majority of the plants will survive!
Sprayed them all last night. The leaves on the plants in the red cups seem to have lost their oily or waxy look.
The plants in the green pots (the chinenses) still have an oily layer on their leaves. I will take a photo tonight and see if it shows up on the photo. They may need another spray...
And it is done. Some of the leaves fell off after being sprayed but others look healthy. The chinense plants sadly are not looking too good but I'm hoping for the best.
Thanks PaulG and Cane. Luckily I posted on here. Originally I was going to spray with liquid sulphur because it looked like...
Yes, I'll spray the tops as well then wait 15 minutes, spray with just water and then finally give them a feeding and then they'll come inside for 24 hours (or a bit longer). It's meant to rain here for the next 2-3 days which means I can put them outside (under cover) without being worried...
Ok, thank you for your thoughts, I really appreciate it. Yes, I understand it's a theory. I'd rather get the neem off straight away because the leaves still look just as oily as last night.
Then I'll leave them inside the house in a dark room for 24 hours then slowly introduce them back into light.
Thanks Cane.
My main concern is that the neem already present on the leaves may prevent further growth or even damage the plants due to how concentrated it is. I don't want to leave it too long without removing the neem but I also don't want to kill the plants by rinsing them in their stressed...
It probably doesn't help that the neem I am using is extremely potent. During cold weather it solidifies and a 1 litre bottle of it smells almost like vomit although the neem smells heavenly after it has been sprayed.
