    chinense Capsicum Chinense?

Not that I have any clue as to what it is, but the growth pattern on the plant doen't seem like a serrano to me. My serranos have always been tall leggy plants and that one looks a lot more bushy. I am wondering about an aji....maybe a dulche or bolivia?

    Mystery hab?

Looks like you have yourself a new type of pepper. I will be interested to see what happens when the big pods ripen.

    crop rotation

I use cow manure and the compost out of my small compost pile. I have had no problems for the last 4 years, and I grow peppers year around down here. My parents have been gardening in the same garden for 30 years and have never rotated crops, just paid very good attention to taking care of the...

    Hornworms

Does anyone else have problems with hornworms on thier pepper plants? I know they love tomatoes, but this year my tomatoes are going untouched, and my peppers are getting hammered by them. I have lost the entire top, blossoms, leaves, baby pods and all of my habanero this morning. All that...

    chinense Capsicum Chinense?

Looks too dark green to be a habanero. It will be interesting to see as it gets older if it has a habanero shape or a tapered diamond shape.

    Pequin vs Tepin-The official Definition?

Tepins for me take a long time to germinate, almost a month, and they do need bottom heat. They also have a tendency to rot in the ground before they germinate. Try to soak them in hot water out of the tap for a night, then plant. Then try to keep them as warm as possible. You can also try...

Showoff Man I can't wait for mine to get like that. I am actually planning on building a sunroom on the back of my house just for my Nagas. I am just thinking of a reason/excuse/whatever to justifiy it to the wife.

    Passow's Peppers(Pics)

Topping is usually done early to make a more bushy plant with more stems, with the idea that a bushy plant has more opprotunities to produce fruit. As it gets bushier, the increased leaves will support more fruit. If it already has fruit on it, then yes it will stress the plant and fruit will...

    Passow's Peppers(Pics)

I have all sorts of problems with tomatoes here. If they haven't set by the end of June, July and August they won't. However, like you I trim them back hard, use the miracle grow grow and epsom salt and I will get tomatoes in the fall again. I am also trying to grow them under a lattice this...

    Name this pepper

Give me about a month for these to be ready and you will have some in the mail. They are nice and warm, not really all that hot to me. I grow them in a whiskey keg outide my front door along with black pearls for the ornamental value.

    Name this pepper

Almost looks like the marble pepper that I am growing. I have three plants, one is round like it should be, the others have that same fat bullet shape as the one in the picture. Same leaf shape and growth pattern. Same branch pattern also. Thats my guess.

I think it is just more of a case of the watched pot never boils sort of thing. I had one jump up, but that day we hit 105 and the poor little guy got burned up. So I moved them into morning sun (still growing them in pots) and four more have grown. I will feel better once they have their...

My Nagas are finally coming up. Man they have been frustrating. I have had 40% germination, which isn't too bad from what I have read. But it is driving me crazy waiting for them to grow and do something. Almost a month to germinate, and now they have been sitting there tormenting me for the...

    Eek! White Mold

Tina, to the best of my knowledge, the sulfer does not effect the peppers at all, which is why I suggested it. I am generally a preying mantis fan of bug control and a picker of white moldy leaves.
