    CaneDog 2020

Nice looking plants as always CD, and keeping my fingers crossed for a great September with lots of ripening coming your way from the weather gods! It's been a rather cold summer overall here too, so wouldn't mind being able to go all the way into October for some of the varieties... ;) Those...

Nice discussion on the jalas, in top of all the gorgeous pics! My lemon spices so far have also been mild, and also heard from Semillas that theirs were milder last season which might explain. The orange spice have a serious kick to them in my opinion, but also agree with CD that their vigour...

    Lespaulde's 2020

Haha yeah it's a nice bonus of harvest season, that she finally seems to understand where my madness come from lol. She's also taken a liking to the Aji Lemon flakes so slowly but surely the pepper passion seems to be coming through :) The Zapotec is a true winner in my opinion, let me know if...

    Lespaulde's 2020

Time for a little update as the weather's picked up again the past 2 weeks. The first harvest is now a fact and it's been fun sampling some new varieties. Top row, left to right: Rocoto Cristobal, Hyperpube x, SRP Middle row: Dorset Naga Orange, Jamaican Yellow Hot (orange in this case)...

Purple Thunder / Bhut Jolokia x (PdN x Bonda Ma Jacques)

This plant definitely likes to grow tall (Bjh-2), with a handful of pods growing: it's even putting my Aji Amarillo to shame which is my 2nd tallest plant! ;) I think I will overwinter it to get some real production next year hopefully. Still, should be able to collect some pods to last me...

Some random closeup shots of the plants: Sugar rush peach: NuMex Lemon Spice on the left, and pumpkin spice on the right: And.... Drum roll.... First ripe Zapotecs! Can't WAIT to try these, and am looking for something nice to pair with them this weekend! CaneDog's Rocoto...

    Lespaulde's 2020

Yeah! With the temps we've had this month (20C / 68F on a good day), it is clear that it was the right choice of having only the rocotos (+ Jamaican hot yellow) outside as I don't think many of the plants would have produced outside of the GH. I must say the paper lantern had a wonderful...

    Lespaulde's 2020

Of course the day after I wrote my last update, I'm seeing a bit of colour on CaneDog's hyperpube! PaulG's Aji Amarillo is also finally starting to pump out more than the 2-3 pods I had so far, curious how their flavor will be: Dorset Naga Orange being a productive fella: NuMex...

    Leaf Curl

I don't think you're dealing with any nutrient deficiencies, but rather lack of water reaching the leafs. It seems rather sunny where you are, what kind of daytime temps do you reach? All your other plants seem fine? What kind of nutrients are you using? If I'm right, I would put the plant in...

    Lespaulde's 2020

Thanks Bryan! Glad to hear the new plants are doing well for you, and the same here. I suppose we should be able to get a ripe pod or 2 out this year still, and then I was probably going to overwinter them. Curious to hear how your Spanish JalapeƱos will turn out, always nice to grow peppers...

    Lespaulde's 2020

I simply cannot believe a month has passed since my last update, and it seems time is just running past me in the blink of an eye! Sorry for the lack of posts, but it's been super busy before the summer holidays, and the weather has been rather cr*ppy for the whole month of July, so not many...

    CaneDog 2020

Impressive efforts CD, and I'm sure it'll pay off for you BIG time despite the slightly late plant out. Enjoy yourself a nice cold beverage or 2 after all that hard work and then you can just sit and watch the plants cranking out pods for ya! Sent from my LYA-L29 using Tapatalk

    CaneDog 2020

Such nice progress here CD, great updates! Fingers crossed you are getting your hands dirty planting out this weekend and will have more pods than you can handle come August! Our weather has turned to sh*t for a week already, so I made sure to send the sunshine in your direction and hope it...

    Mildfruits 2020 hydroponic

Things are looking great as usual MF, hopefully the shitty weather these days wont set back your balcony grow too much! In any case your tent grow is firing on all cylinders with a nice and steady pod production it seems! :) Sent from my LYA-L29 using Tapatalk

    PaulG 2020

Woohoo, color! Nicely done, hopefully flavor will be as good as expected! All in all, plants are looking fantastic Paul, and hopefully the June suck is a thing of the past now that we've reached July! Goin' to be swimming in pods soon enough I'm sure! Sent from my LYA-L29 using Tapatalk

Excellent, that way I have things recorded properly. ;) Really a killer pepper Paul, no wonder so many want to grow it! Thank you! PS: oh, and acceptable is quite an understatement, it's really spot on and what I expected from its lineage! :) Sent from my LYA-L29 using Tapatalk

Got to sample the first pod last night, and just wanted to stress one more time what a beauty it was: You can clearly see which side got sun and that contrast is very pleasing to the eye. Then when you cut it open, I find it's very pretty with the yellow inside: Flavor was very good...

    Lespaulde's 2020

Definitely good advice, thank you! The one I picked was good, but also nothing special to be honest, so will play a bit with when to pick them as this one was getting rather large (10" +). I ended up removing the curled leaves from the JPGS, as there was so much new growth underneath that I...
