Purple Thunder / Bhut Jolokia x (PdN x Bonda Ma Jacques)

Indeed, welcome GPR! And don't worry, it will be a massive plant before you know it - blink and you'll miss it! First Bjh-2 pod is looking nice and purple, let's see where it goes! Sent from my LYA-L29 using Tapatalk

Sorry to hear about the bugs, hopefully it stays minimal! Yes Paul, your keen eye did spot the first pod, let's see how well it does this early on! And Devv, it wanted to be in the front but was too tall for a European car so it had to make do with the backseat luxury... ;) Sent from my...

hydroponic Help Needed: Hydroponic growing pepper - close up leaves

My thoughts as well... I'm running between 500 and 700ppm depending on plant size. What kind of water are you using? Sent from my LYA-L29 using Tapatalk

    Lespaulde's 2020

Also proceeded with converting my kratkies to DWC, now that I have some extra room by the windows... Rocoto Oculto: Early Jalapeño: If the Rocoto is not going to set flowers while indoors, I'll promote it to an outdoor Kratky or DWC (using a solar air pump I already spotted on Amazon) by...

    Lespaulde's 2020

Thanks Devv, so far I'm very happy and I just hope we don't get any more freezing nights as I will then have to panic a little... ;)    And yes, for sure many of my key grow aspects (LED light, autopots) stem from the 4-20 sites who have gone at great lengths to explore these things. Funny how...

    Lespaulde's 2020

Also took the time to 'plant out' the first 3 plants into 60L/16gal fabric containers. I gloriously copied Skullbiker and Uncle E's setup with wire fence inside the pots, as these will end up outside the green house 24/7 in a few weeks and I hope them to get m.a.s.s.i.v.e. This way they should...

    Lespaulde's 2020

Haha sorry for taking up so much of your time! ;) I also couldn't believe it at first, but was sold after the first season. Indeed going 100% perlite should make media recycling a breeze, and even with coco it's just a matter of adding ~30% fresh every time. The only challenge is disentangling...

Devv: Someday, I'll get this right, South Tejas Growing

Everything looking splendid as always Devv, retirement is treating you well it seems! Awesome you're also going down the hydro route - just wait until you pop an aquarium bubbler in there too. The growth rates will shock you even more than the Kratky probably already will... ;) Very stoked...

    Lespaulde's 2020

Do it! I think jalapeños are a pepper that one can never regret growing as it so good on so many things! Didn't you grow the lemon spice last year and were a little underwhelmed about the heat level? I'm very curious about all the different variants I'm growing this year as I'm still on the...

    Lespaulde's 2020

Thanks Paul, I was happy to hear you no longer needed heat inside the greenhouse, that's definitely a good milestone! :) Potted up the final contestants for the autopots, now hopefully they can really stretch their legs and go all out on growth. CaneDog's Zapotec: Lots of buds on the way...

    CaneDog 2020

That hornet does not look like any fun at all, holy hell! That new plot of yours however.... Daaaaaaing! Looks like you hardly could have done any better and there seems to be lots of room for all your plants?!? I foresee great things (given your skillz) and can't wait to see your plants grow...

    Mildfruits 2020 hydroponic

MF, finally managed to catch up on your excellent glog, and you good sir are off to an awesome season this year with all the new gear, varieties and willpower to take on the inherent challenges. It's been super fun reading all your progress and new approaches and I think the results are already...

    Lespaulde's 2020

Since its hopefully soon time for plant out, figured to give a quick picture update of plants while they're still indoors. SRP, with first pods set: Jamaican Yellow Hot: Dorset Naga Orange: JPGS: Paper Lantern: Hyperpube (CaneDog): Overall, I'm loving the foliage of the...

    CaneDog 2020

That variegated Jalapeño looks amazing Mr McDog, curious to see how the fruits turn out and how much variation there is between plants. And you're for sure keeping the scientific approach going, with multi layers of perlite density, hopefully it will pay off for you! Seems like you're really...

Purple Thunder / Bhut Jolokia x (PdN x Bonda Ma Jacques)

Got my first pod growing BTW! Interesting that the foliage only seems to reach full purple color in intense sunlight - its been cloudy this past week and suddenly a lot møre green appeared Sent from my LYA-L29 using Tapatalk

    Next to My Chair Again

Looking good unc, hopefully soon no more schlepping at all! I'm with Devv too, this year I'm keeping plants indoor for longer to ensure no evening luggings - no fun carrying 12+ plants in and out over 100 yards twice a day and I'm not even 40 yet... xD Potting mix looks nice and light...
