Since this was bumped and I've now had a season of successfully growing super hots between that time, I can say with confidence that in my situation the missing element was indeed shade cloth. My weather was just too damn hot. Something to explore if your peppers struggle to fruit.

Does the soil have good drainage? Maybe repot it with some added sand.

Seeds are definitely spicy. I burned my eyes earlier from handling them and stupidly touching my face. That's just residual juice excreted from the placenta though.

I plan on using various Scotch Bonnets as poppers this season. Good boost in heat which i'll like. Also prefer Chinense flavors.

I feel the Tepin X Lemon Drop would be a fun one to swap out the 'cherry pepper' for in your pickling.        

  Can you give a ballpark figure for the amount you'd need to consume for that?    I know I was eating many whole peppers with every single meal for a few consecutive months this last season and I felt fine.

  Makes sense. The oils are fat soluble. That's why milk works a lot better than water.     I can drink Half & Half straight. I think it's yum. In fact, I've used it for the purpose of alleviating burn before.

It's a productive plant and they can be eaten at various color stages. Which makes it a great one to rely on to spice up daily dishes. Also a tad more heat than the Aji Limon/Pineapple. Of all the Baccatums I grew i'd rank Aji Omnicolor high. Aji Amarillo was probably my favorite taste-wise but...

As I mentioned before I rely on my worms (Red Wigglers and Earthworm) for my fertilization. Coffee grounds I regularly give to my worms to snack on. I amend it directly into the top soil layer in my beds. 

My Aji Limon was super productive and resilient. I think it's a great pepper for new growers. I prefer it over Aji Pineapple but that's a minority view. Aji Amarillo is great too but I wouldn't say it's as easy to grow as Aji Limon. Aji Omnicolor or Aji Limon would be my suggestion.   My Rocoto...

 Bonda ma Jacques is getting lots of love.   I preferred my Madame Jeanette and Super Datil over the BMJs. Mine had a bit of bitterness to them. Wonder if it was bad genetics. I just had the one plant. It was super productive though!

How about Pimente De Neyde? I don't think It's technically an ornamental but it sure is a pretty plant.   I haven't tasted it but some seem to really like the flavor.

Bahamian Goat, CGN21500, Madame Jeanette, Tepin X Lemon Drop.    Those were my favorites from last years grow.   I would add Giant Mexican Rocoto except it only produced 1 not very giant pod... Tasty though! There was apricot flavor in it.

Surprisingly I'm not big on baccatums so far but something tells me Aji Omnicolor is what you're looking for. Around Serrano heat too I think? Maybe a little hotter but it's all underwhelming to me.
