    Free seeds

Curses!  I saw you had five responses but hadn't twigged that one wasn't eligible.  I could have snuck in there and now I've missed it again.  Anyway I am in the UK so you probably wouldn't want to send them.  I'm desperate for bubblegum though; I've sown seeds from several different sources...

My first attempt at vodka chilli

I use two to three sliced superhots to a whole bottle of vodka (750ml or 1 litre.)  I wouldn't want it any more concentrated than that.   As with any fruit soaked in vodka, the colour does leach out, so over time the pods go a creamy colour and the liquid goes the colour that the pods were to...

    seed-train European Seed train...

Can I ask a favour - those of you who have already had the train this season - please can you say what you have added, so I know what new varieties are in there that weren't there last time?   Thanks a lot!

chinense Which chinenses are the muskiest?

I've often seen people write about the "distinctive" "unmistakeable" scotch bonnet smell and I'm embarrassed to say I can't smell it myself.  I do really like the fruity flavour of Bahamian Goat to the extent that I can't imagine ever not growing it, and the MoA bonnet I also like but I haven't...

Trident’s SB 2019 “keeping the faith”

Good to see you managed to get something out of this season.  Mine has been very disappointing with quite a few plants not producing at all (or only just setting now, when it's far too late for them to ripen.)  Some successes though including some with your seeds.

Trippaul Threat (PdN x BMJ) Community Grow

Mine are sort of creamy / ivory coloured but they look more white in certain light.  I have isolated pods and can send you some seeds once they're dried out, if you want.  I'll try to post pics.     The only seeds I'm after are bubblegum (any colour) as I have tried and failed multiple times...

Mine look more white under artificial light.  I ate a tiny weeny little runt one.  Spent the next 10 mins crying and drooling uncontrollably.  Not a good look.  Thankfully I was home alone at the time so no one witnessed it.

My indoor plant main crop has ripened but, as with the earlier couple of pods, they are all ivory/yellow coloured, not white.  It's actually a better crop than I thought; all being well, I will pick them tomorrow.

    seed-train European Seed train...

Yes please.  (UK - assuming the mail will still work post-Brexit.)   I've not had the best of years so I'm not sure what I can contribute (still waiting for lots to ripen) but I will definitely have something - caramel moruga and peach fatalii for definite.

The only two pods on my indoor plant finally ripened but to cream/pale yellow rather than white.  The plant has set loads of pods in the last few weeks so looks like I will finally have a decent harvest in about November or December!  (As the plant is in the house, they should ripen eventually...

    Rob's First Grow 2019

Some yummy-looking pods coming now; well done!  Some of your plants have very pale / yellow leaves.  Are you under or over feeding them?  Maybe giving too much potash and not enough nitrogen?  (Having said that, I have three or four plants with yellow leaves and they've been treated just the...

    Ornamental edible chillies

Purple tiger (also known as trifetti or tricolour variegata).  Extremely ornamental - leaves are variegated green, purple and white.  I've got it growing by my front door in Yorkshire.  Haven't got any ripe pods off it yet though so can't comment on the taste / heat but I'm not expecting it to...

    seed-train European Seed train...

I'd love to see people's feedback on what they have grown from the seed train.  I've had a few problems this year with things not coming true.  Can't remember off the top of my head which of them were from the seed train but a couple definitely were.  So it might be useful to add that...

Mitzi's 2019 - Grow, grow, grow your Bhut

Smaller harvest this week but a greater variety:     Realised I forgot to include the tiny Reapers and peach Bhut Jolokia I brought home from the greenhouse, so there should be even more.  The greenhouse peach bhut is at least peach, although the pods are miniscule.  The three red pods at the...

    snagglepuss 2019 grow

Wow, some look really mean.  Some look a lot more innocent... but knowing you, they're probably not!  Good work.

    Do I cut these off?

Are you feeding it?  I'd expect it to have had more than four chillies by now, in your lovely warm climate.  And what size pot is it in?

    Dehydrating frozen peppers

I found that the frozen peppers (after dehydrating) are much darker coloured than the fresh ones from the same plant.  So yellow scotch bonnets make a dark mustardy-coloured powder (french mustard, I suppose, not that bright yellow stuff you put on hot dogs.)  Still works, though.

My outdoor plant still only has tiny dots instead of pods.  There are quite a few of them and they have gone a paler colour so I'm guessing that's all it's going to produce.  The indoor plant has only two pods on it but at least they look like they should do.  The first one has turned kind of...

    pics Harvest

Wow, those are massive - unless you have tiny little hands like the Donald. Do they taste good? Do you have any spare seeds that might make their way across the pond? ;-)
