frutescens What is the hottest frutescens?

Chunpepe is supposed to be a very hot frutescens. Nigel gave a very nice review of it a few years ago. I tried growing it last year but unfortunately the seeds were crossed with what appears to be a chinense. It produced pods about the size of a small naga and were very hot... about bhut level...

Bubblegum example: What do you refine for?

That is an interesting comment about reapers. I never found sourness in the reapers I grew or purchased from others. In fact I found them to have a sweetness and are more sweet than the primo. I do like the flavor of primo better though. I have had reapers and primos fresh and in powders the...

    chinense Peach Habanero

I tried a peach hab a few weeks ago. Nice aroma and tasty crunchy flesh. On the mild side for a hab, but a nice pepper.   Have not tried the mustard hab yet, but they sound nice. Recently tried the mustard BBM and thought it was pretty good, and pretty hot. Have tried other mustards but have not...

    Windchicken 2016

What is the "SmiterQ" variant?   My first experience with a pequin was in 1989 when I was in the Army and stationed in San Antonio. I lived off base and a Hispanic neighbor had a small bush in his front yard that produced small, oblong, red berries that were blazing hot (at the time the hottest...

    favorite You Favorite Red "Habanero"

Interesting that you started this topic... I was going to start the same topic a few weeks ago but got distracted with more research.   Anyway, I too am looking for an awesome red habanero type to grow next year. I had initiated a seed trade several months ago for some Antillais Caribbean Reds...

    Brown Moruga?

Those could be brown moruga. I had several plants a few years ago and one threw pods like that. The brown moruga is a cross between the TSM and 7 Pot Brown, so sometimes the 7 Pot brown shape comes out instead of the desired moruga scorpion shape. Look at the photo of the 7 Pot Brown on pepper...

    P. Dreadie Memorial Group Grow 2016

Gary, I had the same experience from the pods you sent me... the first 4 or 5 were surprisingly mild for a scotch bonnet, then I had one today that was very hot and got my attention. I'm definitely planting seed from that pod next year. The crunchiness and flavor of these peppers are really nice!

chinense Reaper / Primo and Trinidad Scorp / Butch T

To me it sounds like the story is that the original TS originated from Valley View Farms after someone there obtained samples from Trinidad. Butch Taylor used this strain to develop the TS Butch-T.   The original TS is not the same as the TS CARDI Red, these are 2 different strains of TS and the...
