The old garden was always better for growing tomatoes, cucumbers and pumpkins. So that's what we always put there.   Cucumbers #1 (these are large varieties for eating raw and in salads)   Cucumbers #2 (the pickling ones)   I think this one is butternut   zucchinis   I need to tie them...

It's time for an update after a long month. Things are as usual, but the weather finally got better. Lot's of sun (also a few storms) and warm nights, exactly what the plants needed. So they are slowly progressing...   BJ Chocolate - still small but growing   JA Red Habanero   JA Red Habanero...

I guess we can all relate to that. Only now I think plants started to grow. They were stunted by the cold nights, some got aphids so... let's hope to a better weather from late june on. Keep your head up Paul. Your peppers look good.

Thanks man. If it wouldn't turn out good, then the drive would go away. Now I have to try it again.   Thank you Paul. Now we have one rainy week so hoping for some more sun soon. Here's to big and healthy pepper plants    I guess there are already a lot of them, with professionals doing...

Baked again yesterday evening. Two smaller loafes with a mix of spelt wholegrain, dark wheat and rye flour.       Next time I need to make both a little smaller or maybe just one larger....   ...because the upper one (left) in the oven was a little overdone   the lower one was just right  ...

I actually hate using stretch foil, since it's soon to be waste (freaking plastic), but it's easy and efficient to protect the plants for the first two weeks. Then I remove it. The upper roof PVC is usable for about 5 years or more. I think this is the fifth year for this one. It's a good...

Tomatoes are in the garden. I just hope they'll start ok. We also planted cucumbers by the wall on the left, under that netting. So pretty much the same and already tested arrangement of the veggies.   Also tried the sourdough bread again, this time two smaller loaves with spelt, black wheat...

No problem, if it was any help at all. I think the sourdough makes the crust darker too, because I baked with this kind of flour before and it was never that dark. But I always used yeast before. I think I officially switched to sourdough now ;) I mainly bake bread and pizza.   The chocolate hab...

Your baggie says Orange pods, you can see it one page back. Thanks for stopping by and for the info. Bonnets are tasty so the size of the pod is not important.

We went to the nursery today to pick an eggplant or two... and ended with two more mild chilis, some pumpkins, watermelon for the kids and more...   Also bought one Habanero Chocolate, since the seeds I had didn't sprout   these are Jalapenos from previous visit to the nursery (I had...

Nice plants from the nursery Eric and a shame for the frozen ones you had. Did any of them pull through?   Wife and I also got a few from the nursery, it's just when you walk through you could pick almost every plant to take home.... :) We also ordered some bell peppers via post office, and they...

Garden is looking great Scott, as usual.   I hear snakes are nice to have near the garden, but they scare most of us. The snake season has just begun around here. Saw the first one just the other day.

Bread making is magic, if it comes out good... and that one really makes me want to bake again. I just did some dough for pizza, it's going to be tomorrow's lunch.   I guess the crust is dark because of the dark wheat flour and the temp was about 240°C (465°F) for a half an hour, then I lovered...

Yeah, it's beautiful. But I bet if you go for a walk somewhere close to you, you could get to a beautiful place too. You should see where I mountain biked just earlier. Steep but very calm nature. It was a blast after a hard working week. The guitar has a similar effect on the soul as a nice...
