pest-i.d. something is biting the leaves off of my pepper plants

Growing mint around your grow is better than that crap (Bobbex). Powdered pepper will keep a lot of critters out of your grow. Reapplying can be a pain due to rains or improper watering technique. Both of these forms of controls can be grown very inexpensively and both can eat them, too.

My name is Jerry, and I have an earwig problem.

Put a wetting agent (i.e. dawn dishsoap, aloe vera gel, etc.) in your ‘liquid‘ traps to help the liquid to stick to them or they just drown from falling. Like a majority of insects/beetles they breathe through tube (tracheae-they don’t have lungs) openings located on their throax and abdomen...

pest-i.d. something is biting the leaves off of my pepper plants

Raccoons, possums, woodchucks and rabbits terrorize pepper plants at night all the time. You’ll probably have to apply some kind of ‘control’ to maintain your grow until you harvest. It’s a reality when you‘re growing food thats accessible to any form of predation. I think how you manage a grow...

favorite If you could only grow "one" superhot ?

You won’t be disappointed. Feed it every two weeks until it flowers and again (reduce the nitrogen) when pods start forming. You can continue feeding the plant but, I don’t find it necessary given the yield ratio from the added labor/cost over not feeding in the way late stages. Keep it on the...

For me, it’s the Trinidad Red Moruga Scorpion. The flavor profile compliments many dishes without any bitterness and has a good balance on the floral and citrusy notes. It makes an excellent power, too. They’re really tasty when smoked lightly, as well. I think they taste way better than the...

seeds-germination No more small lots of seed permits?

BigAg has found yet another wretched ‘loophole’ for seed control. Politicians don’t think this type of stuff up on their own. SADLY, more viral and pest issues surround the IMPORTATION of fruits and vegetables (which they care not to speak of ) than any small lot seed transaction. More...

    news Here commmmmes the BUNNY…

I posted the lastest APHIS action to alert those who it might effect. Maybe my opinion shouldn’t have followed along with the post because that’s all I’m hearing about…my opinion, not the action that APHIS has taken without retort. I guess I could be a ‘don’t give shit’ about anyone other than...

I wish they’d be as concerned with the chemical drift and GMO pollen that are ruining organically grown crops. If the viral issue were that dire they’d have the Chemical Companies soaking fields with their toxic cocktails. Hydrogen Peroxide will kill most enveloped viruses, bacteria and germs...

That’s how Corporations amassed their fortunes…having the Government implement their agenda per their wants is how it’s been done since the Industrial Revolution. Greed is running rampant and it’s driving the Planet to the brink of extinction.

    news Here commmmmes the BUNNY…

No. All are a reality to agriculture. What angers me is that there are no provisional changes that make those amendments more affordable to small farms and seed stewards thus eliminating them from procuring seed in the same fashion as BigAg still can because of their abundant cash revenues. Are...

I’m not on a political rant. I just can’t stand conniving chickenshit liars and thieves. Especially, when it spills over into the seed world. Without it we wouldn’t exist and allowing a bunch of egomaniacal roundheads to threaten that system should alarm anyone on two legs. Corporate Agriculture...

All done for BigAg’s agenda…control seed…control the food supply…control the food supply…control/cripple the people. Definitely, not a new concept in history. BigAg’s reaches are far and wide. What amazes me in this article is that nothing is said about imported fresh fruits and vegetables with viable seeds that don’t require a photosanity certificate. WAY SQUEEZE OUT THE SMALL FARMS COMMUNITY CLUBBING THEM WITH MONETARY FEES, APHIS/USDA!!! Just...
